@GreyPunkWolf
@GreyPunkWolf 4 жыл бұрын
Pretty obvious tho. Like the canadian lumberjack contest, everyone has the best axe they can get or build to specifically match their needs and body. Basically any competition where you can bring your own gear is pay to win. From Olympic swimming to wild climbers, if you don't have the best gear you're in for a bad time regardless of the level of competition.
@LeCheckmate
@LeCheckmate 4 жыл бұрын

@GreyPunkWolf

@@LeCheckmate It's only controlled and regulated to avoid cheating. But every participant bring his own gear and medical team. Only the emergency medics are paid by the event. And the cleaning crew obv. Although they don't pay personally for the gear and insurance, they have sponsors for that
@GreyPunkWolf

Also sponsors bring them steady income even when they aren't doing competitions so that they can focus only and completely on their training to have the best performance once the competition period starts.

This is an amazing catagory. Still, there's a lot to come in this record. A wide range of premium sharpeners are still going to be faster, the twin blade one he picked initially being a great choice. The KUM sharpeners at the beginning of the video being another, along with the great name. There's a good array of novel sharpeners out there. But you need to sharpen the blades and replace them when they are overused. Premium pencils are obviously better, but picking the correct wood makes a huge difference. Premium tend to use hardwood instead of the woods cheap pencils use gumming up the internals, I'd presume maple would be the best hardwood choice. However talk to a carpenter to find out which is easiest to plane. Finally I'd think a few miscellaneous tweaks might help too. Lubricant on the inside of the sharpener so it spins freer. Pencils contain graphite which is a great lubricant, graphite powder would be better. Maybe even something like molybdenum dabbed on the end of each pencil or something equally silly could help. I'm not able to be the sharpening world record holder myself, but I can at least advance the meta for those who are able to compete.

@FriendlyNeighborhoodCrow
@FriendlyNeighborhoodCrow Жыл бұрын
As a pencil collector my advice for chocie of pencil would go to Blackwing Pencils, they are made of premium quality cedar wood wich sharpen like butter (They are however super expansive) A even better pencilchoice would go to the Mitsubishi Hi-Uni wich is even more expansive but smooooth. Graphite also plays a big factor, the scale goes from B (soft and dark) to HB (Midrange and most used pencils) to H (Hard and light) So the smartest choice would be using B10 graphite pencils with premium quality cedar wood. And than the choice of sharpener, i am unaware if it's a rule but crank sharpeners are the godtier sharpeners in all aspect, if they are not allowed a Kum sharpeners would be my choice aswell. I want to see a sub 1 minute run now KEKW

@olivialambert4124
@olivialambert4124 Жыл бұрын
@@Tosh.O There's many, many types of lubricant. Dry lubricant specifically being one style. Molybdenum being my favoured industrial lubricant, it loves to build up grey stains everywhere but imo typically better than graphite. Both are in powder form, graphite similar to powdered pencil lead which obviously doesn't make the wood chips stick.

This feels like a full anime season SmallAnt has a dream. SmallAnt attempts to achieve his dream, of being the fastest pencil sharpener ever. SmallAnt does relatively well, and pursues his dream. He then encounters someone who is far superior to himself. Andso he decides that his dream is unachievable. But then, when all hope is lost, he receives training from one far wiser than himself, And slowly, through master FootCream's training, He becomes the greatest pencil sharpener in the world.
