If I were to pick the game up again today, I doubt I'd even reach the final level in 7 hours, let alone beat the game.

One key factor is that, because the main game mechanic is using a stylus to draw on the touch screen in a precise manner, speedrunning this game requires a completely different set of skills than speedrunning a platformer like Mario Odyssey or Super Metroid. You know what else does require roughly the same skills as speedrunning Cooking Mama? Animating. :)

Little piece of trivia, shark fin is not illegal to cook in your house. What is illegal is finning (fishing the shark, cutting the fin, tossing the rest of the carcass back in the ocean). After that, a lot of countries banned shark fishing altogether BUT not the serving of shark fin meals. Other countries banned the import of shark fins but if you got some through the black market or something, technically you're in the clear as long as you don't serve them publicly. So if Mama is defended by Phoenix Wright in her trial, she might avoid prison.
