I just picked my up 2 days ago and so far I couldn't be happier. Been wanting a micro 9mm for awhile but the prices were too freaking much. When I seen these and the price I figured it was worth a shot. I did switch the back strap to the bigger one. 100 rounds fired and it hit the point of aim. Time will only tell how well it handles.

The G3C size side by side with the GX4 isn’t a whole lot of difference! You also lose some magazine count with GX4! The price point and style is putting this Taurus up against pricey similar models! I prefer my G3C at $299 purchase , mag count , trigger and card board box! Other reviewers mention GX4 shooting low left! Subscribed and liked!

I tried one, feels pretty nice as for the trigger I think it's more of the wall that is solid. The pull is not heavy but when you reach the wall there's a hard break other than that I think it's pretty good. Taurus is headed in the right direction since the G2c. New sub here, good vid👍

It's been about a month or so since I had my GX4 out shooting, so I was eager to *see* some shooting if I couldn't immediately *do* some shooting of my own. Vicarious range time, I guess you could call it. So I did a search of yootoob for videos of GX4 range reviews. Just finished watching yours, and even though I'm late to the conversation, I'd like to chime in. I'm more of a revolver guy, but I eventually (reluctantly?) decided to make the switch to a semi-auto carry option, just because of capacity and concealability. I bought my GX4 more than a year ago. I was not only looking for capacity and concealability but also for budget-friendly. So after comparing different subcompacts/micro9s, I settled on the GX4. If I recall correctly, it was $325 in March of last year, with a mail-in rebate of $50, so definitely the budget-friendly winner. I have no issues with the trigger. (I'd be interested to hear if you still feel the same about the trigger on yours.) The pistol is a bit snappy, but it's certainly manageable. Thus far, I've had no reliability issues, so that's good. And it's a *great* concealed carry piece. Fully loaded (11+1 JHP 115gr) in a DeSantis Gunhide Nemesis holster (#N38BJE1Z0) that rig weighs 24.9 oz. Not bad at all, IMHO. It's easy to forget I have it on me.

The trigger is not "Bad", but when it came out, there was a lot of hype about it. I still think the GX3 has a little nicer trigger, but I'm not much of a trigger snob anyway. I also love my revolvers! Thanks for taking the time to watch, and thanks for the comment too!

I'm with you don't know much about this GX4 but my Taurus TX22 trigger is the best trigger of and of my 22LR pistols l have and it's reliable and fairly accurate and feels perfect in the hand

I might just add that the "'WALL" in the trigger that your talking about, is when you encounter the other SAFETY that is built into all pistols and some revolvers manufactured since 1983, beginning with the "Series 80" 1911. It's called a firing pin block safety and is necessary to keep the firing pin from setting off a round in case the weapon is dropped. It would probably be an engineering masterpiece if anyone could come up with a design that would eliminate the "CREEP" it takes to overcome this. All thing considered, Taurus has a winner here in a value priced, small, and concealable handgun.

I think my biggest problem with it, is that I'm not used to it. There really doesn't feel like there's much "creep" to it. There is a little take-up" then the hard wall. Some people might love it, it just feels odd to me, maybe it's because I'm just used to "bad triggers" Lol.

Having a slightly heavier trigger on a PDW is not necessarily a bad thing if you have to apply more purposeful pressure in your trigger pull. It could be argued that it prevents negligent misfires or flyers. This is why some states require that a CCW have a 6lb trigger. For those that do not do a ton of drills with an elevated heart rate that simulates the adrenaline rush of a defensive situation that draws from concealment to target engagement undsr duress, it forces them to be deliberate with their shots. I agree that it certainly has a heavier trigger than the G3C but not to the point that it would inhibit operation in a defensive situation. It also has far less take up, over travel, and reset distances than any other Taurus firegroup on the market. So while it is slightly heavier, in my opinion, it is a more refined system than other offerings from this manufacturer. Thanks for sharing with us.

I have the GX4 and teamed it with the E series Veridian green laser and I have no problems banging steel at 20 yards on in ! I like the trigger of the X4 compared to the G3C ! The 3C trigger pull is way too long for my taste ! Trigger engages at the rear of the trigger guard ! I like the wall of the X4 compared to the creep of over an inch with the 3C !

I tried to clean out my firing pin channel but it doesn't come out. There's no roll pin to take the ejector and drop safety out either. Engineered way different than any other firearm I seen. I think the plastic sleeve is just in there super tight. Not sure. I've shot mine a few times and it does shoot left and low by inches at 7 yards. As soon as an aftermarket barrel come out ,I'm getting a threaded barrel for it. It's the barrel IMO. Update,, Bought a firing pin sleeve from Lakeline LLc, Wow it's nice , great upgrade and 10xs better than that super tight plastic one. !

Picked up my new GX4 yesterday and wondering what specific 9mm ammo to use when breaking in the gun....don't want to use my critical defense rounds.

9mm is tough to find nowadays, at least at a decent price, but really any full metal jacket ammo in the same weight of your defense ammo should be fine. You'll still want to try some of you defense ammo to make sure it feeds and cycles properly. FMJ and personal defense ammo usually have a different shaped nose and could feed differently.

If you want a truly pocketable pistol, check out the Diamondback DB9 Gen4. It's about the size of a Ruger LCP but in 9mm, and with the Gen4 version they got one that's pretty reliable. I have plenty of micro 9's but that's still the one I grab the most -- in a DeSantis Nemesis pocket holster I almost forget I'm packing...

You hit the nail on the head about the trigger it's too hard . Taurus calls this a flat trigger , I say it's a v-notch the flat part is very short and pinches my finger against the trigger guard. I really hope someone comes out with a trigger .

I'm not a fan of this pistol, there are some nice things going on but I don't care for the trigger, It shoots 2-3 inches low at 7 yards, there is no pic rail, the steel chassis is nice but no restrike capability, the sights are difficult to see and I don't like my pinkie finger out in the breeze, it is small about the same as the P- 365 the trigger pull is about 5lb 26 oz. Weight is the same as the P -365 and I think the MSRP of $392 is a bit high. Thanks for the video. 🇺🇸

Very good and accurate review. I was really excited to get a gx4, but disappointed after shooting it. I don't like the sight picture or trigger either. The wall is much too heavy on the break. I painted the front dot orange and that did help, but I feel like as a carry gun, a front night sight is a must. I know Taurus is trying to come in lower than the competition, but IMO, the skimping really takes this gun back. At the very least, they should have included one pinky extension. One 13 round mag instead of two 11 rounders would have also been nice. So....heavy trigger, poor sights, and less than competition mags make the gx4 a disappointment for me.

Thanks for the compliment! I would have been happy with just 3-dot sights and I completely agree on the pinky extension. I don't know if they're intent was to offer them without so you would go to their website and order them, but even Ruger offered both floor plates with the SR-22. The break at the wall was sort of a downer for me too. I hope it gets a little better with more use and "breaking in". Thanks for watching!

Excellent Review! Subscribed! I think its important with this gun, to remember a few things. 1) Its a small pistol. Its meant for up close and dirty. You dont miss a whole lot at 3 to 5 yards. 2) Taurus is doing really good. Far from perfect, but WAY better than even 5 years ago. They crushed the G2C, G3 and G3C. But, its time for them change it up and offer something, different. Taurus is giving people OPTIONS in a lower price bracket. I applaud their GX4. Way to be innovative! 3) Taurus listened! The older G series guns have a safety, weaker coating, plastic sights and a unique trigger. People overlooked those because of the price vs the performance. But, people gave feedback to Taurus and they built an entirely new pistol with more features, without killing the bank.

That’s what I was thinking. It’s cute to have a 2.5 lb trigger on every, but you don’t need it. Those super light triggers are over rated IMO. A 3 pounder and a five pound at the end of the day don’t feel that different. I own one, and honestly the trigger isn’t even heavy, it just has a very definitive wall.

I think the "best" depends on each person's own personal preferences. For me, my p365 is the best. For others, it's the S&W Shield Plus, or Ruger Max9 and so on. I might end up getting one of theses GX4's just because Palmetto has it on sale right now for $299 +free shipping.

AN EXAMPLE - comparison between *_Taurus & SIG_* by Logic: *A Wash* - Round count is _irreverent_ pass 6 or 7 bullets as the average shots fired in all self-defense is 2 to 4 shots (FBI data) *SIG P365* is better - higher quality, known reputation of being reliable & accurate pistol. *SIG P365* is worse - being higher end = higher price so poorer folks & low income individuals can not afford it. *Taurus GX4* is better - low price is great for the poor so now they can defend themselves too like the general public. Being a copy of the Glock 43 (by ---stealing--- _borrowing_ Glock R&D) it should be more reliable than most Taurus'. *Taurus GX4* is worse - Taurus has a bad reputation for unreliability & very, very poor customer service. The Taurus GX4 is lower quality than the SIG (point one). The Taurus will have *lower re-sell value* than the SIG. The Taurus copies Glocks R&D as said so it should work. _But_ why not just get the original (G43) instead of a copy cat (point two). *SIDE NOTE:* (opinion) This emphasis on the trigger of CCW guns & non-competition handguns is _ridiculous._ Will the very small difference in how a striker fired trigger works make a difference is the high stress event of a self-defense shooting. Will it even matter for anything if you actually use the gun, practicing to *_learn_* the gun. There are no good or bad triggers in CCW or self-defense. There are triggers that need to be _learned._ And that learning should take a week if that. Happy _Post_ Father's Day

Course this get released 5 days after getting hellcat ….gggrrrrrr! I’d trade hellcats better sights for the walther like backstrap to fit my hand. Damn hellcat is hard to shoot as grip is essentially a magazine stuck to a slide.

There are some of the micro pistols I have avoided because there's nothing to hold on to. The Taurus is about 200 bucks cheaper too.

I'm not a Taurus fan, had 2 of them going back to the early 80's, but I would rather have the G3c if I had to have one. But pretty much any of the big 3, S&W, Ruger, Hellcat I would rather have, but that's just me, not impressed with this one at all, thx for the vid Richard.
