I have one of these on order and have built the NRC-24 RC10 goldpan replica and that was quite a fun build. Glad to see they went with oil shocks on this one. My Goldpan is running the Hobbywing Mini28 6500kv sensored setup and it's a little missile. Also the motor looks scale to the 1/10 counterparts. I also converted the goldpan to Proline oil shocks, but at least I won't have to do that with this mini Ultima.

This 1/24 scale buggy really reminds me of Tamiya Mini 4WD series! They have the Avante, Astute, Top Force, and a lot more shell bodies such as Big Bang Ghost, Astro Boomerang which are not available in 1/10 rc form. Then there’s the models from Dash Yonkuro TV series such as Emperor, Burning Sun, Dancing Doll etc damn i could go on and on and on with this since the Mini 4WD Tamiyas were very popular in this part of the world (Malaysia). In fact I grew up watching the Dash Yonkuro series in the late 90s. This NRC Project buggy is just a lot more detailed buggy with RC functionality. Quite impressed with the build quality so far. Looking forward to the build and running video of it!

Isnt that the DTM Opel Calibra body you got for the next build? Werent they (full scale) always AWD? Not that it matters, but if you wanted a body whose full scale car was FWD, considering that, I dont think thats it?

Wait you have it? What is this video about? Did you build it? Totally confused here

Looks neat. How are your eyes going to do putting it together? I put together a Metal Earth model of the Apollo Lunar Rover last year. At an assembled size of 9 x 4.5 x 5.8 cm some of the parts were so small. It was a bit of challenge for these 49 year old eyes.

LOVE IT
@YoShImUrA538 ай бұрын
Gav, the road going Calibra was FWD and AWD, but the DTM version (as the body you purchased) was definitely only AWD. On the note of the actual topic of the video, buggy looks AMAZING!!
@RCKickschannel8 ай бұрын
Yep I know the DTM were modified to 4WD but it's fitting as I'm not 100% sure yet, but I hope you can make this chassis dual motor AWD. I will know more when I build the chassis. I know you can do this mod on the FF01 chassis.
@YoShImUrA538 ай бұрын
@@RCKickschannel yup. You can make a BT01 AWD. Several have done it and shared videos in Japan. But then again, at that point, why not use a TT0x? Back to FF bodies, Tamiya's Honda Civic Castrol (EG6) are usually easy to find in shops, and are a proper 257mm, if it helps!

OMG it's tiny (that's what she said 😂). It's an Ultima Pro clone at 1/24, it's crazy 😮 Still Kyosho did some 1/20 of their range around 1987 called Baja Bug with Ultima, Salute and Turbo Optima body; they were already difficult to work on, but now with modern stuff, it may be easier even if smaller. Little detail, about the BT01, while front motor, the Calibra V6's from german championship (ITC ex-DTM) were 4WD 😉.

I was looking at this kit k24. Wow! It is expensive. You can buy a 1/10 scale kit for the same money. Thoughts?
@RCKickschannel8 ай бұрын
It has the same number of parts as a 1/10th Rc buggy but on a smaller scale, but machining the parts is harder as the tolerances are smaller. When you think about it, the price should be the same to a little more. The only thing less is the raw materials but turning that into a part is always way more expensive. I think that’s the challenge when building an RC on a small scale, people assume it should be way less. I’m not saying I don’t feel the same but when you think about it, you start to realise why it costs the same as a 1/10th. That said, what’s the benefit to making it a much smaller scale apart from the engineering challenge and the novelty. 🤔 I think this is why I’m not into the Kyosho Mini Z cars. The scale I like the most is 1/12th for detailed RC cars like the 959 or the Fantom CRC2 and the 1/8th of the UDR or Maxx Slash.
@alfredyost79728 ай бұрын
@@RCKickschannel You make several good points. I am surprised that you said you do not like the Kyosho mini Z cars. I have the Kyosho mini Z Jeep. It is very scale and is also expensive. However, everything is in the box. The buggy you are about to build also needs more parts to complete, which makes it even more expensive. I look forward to your building this one. Thank you

Micro T was 1/36th but the build quality on this looks great
@billymanilli7 ай бұрын
Yeah those little Losi RTRs all ended up being junk... What a shame too... Was super excited back when the Mini T 1.0 was introduced... In fact, I even bought the pro roller and loaded it up with nice stuff... Every time I used it, something broke. The plastic they make everything out of is SO cheap , it breaks just sitting. ..and you can't get parts because they replaced it with the 2.0 (which is just as much of a piece). Could've been something cool, but Horizon/Losi seems to care a lot more about money than anything else any more. Once Horizon took over, it made me really dislike Losi, as their products turned into mostly mass produced crap like traxxas
@mathewjancsics22707 ай бұрын
@@billymanilli I dunno, I had a brushless setup in my micro T and the only thing that went was the diff, but someone sold a modified metal gear set that held up well. Sure they don't look as well made as this kit, but given the cost and the size that thing took a beating and held together. the parts issue also isn't unique to Losi, associated is pretty awful with their older kits.

Just had delivered a micro b losi buggy Sorry gav but that puts this to bed the amount of tune ups available too on model sports site for it plus a brushless set still comes in cheaper (Also Iv literally only just watched this vid)
@RCKickschannel23 күн бұрын
The micro B from Losi for the money is amazing and I got to see one run at my local 1/10th carpet track last night funny enough. As for a comparison, this is apples and oranges dialed up to eleven as it's totally different in every way. This is a small production run 100% scaled-down vintage buggy replica in alloy and carbon, not a mass-produced ground out small plastic design RC. It's like looking at the price of my Ford truck vs that 1 of only 200 Ferrari cars. That doesn't detract from the Losi micro B, it's fantastic for the money and well worth a look if you have an ultra-smooth area to drive on or a local carpet track. I still have my reservations on how much you will actually end up driving the micro b due to just how small it is and the surface limitation you need to drive on, but if you have a big smooth open area, well give it a go. :)

It has the same number of parts as a 1/10th but harder to manufacture as the smaller a part is, the more precise the part has to be manufactured. What you can end up with is a more expensive product the smaller the scale.
