Obviously no Health and Safety in this county, I used to work in the bookbinding industry here in Australia for 43 years, and in that time I worked nearly every machine shown in this video, from slitters, to guillotines, binding machines, both perfect and saddle and everything else, and in my time it was always drilled into us SAFTEY FIRST, which meant saftey boots, ear protection, metal impregnated gloves if we were working a guillotine or 3 knife trimmer, and a host of other saftey measures, which now I'm glad of as I walked away from it with all my fingers and feet intact. It looks like these people will be not so fortunate.

Because this is the only way notebooks/khatas can stay low cost in "this country" to reach the kids and youth of poor impoverished areas who can have education without any financial problem. Surely spoiled people from spoiled country will never understand that. Also, this is not everywhere, there are big production companies with much "safer" invironment makes notebooks which are pretty expensive and only financially stable families can afford those. This kind of arrogance pisses me off.

There is a red laser light that runs all along which shows the line where it will be cut, it does have a very fast sensor which detects flesh, any obstruction, the blade will pull back, thus it is safe.

I find it interesting how people in other countries are allowed to work. I noticed at this place the man was rolling that heavy roll of paper around bare foot in the US you would most likely be required to wear steal toed shoes although I would prefer to go barefoot myself. Sounds nice, but gloves can make it hard, when working with gloves. I used to work in printing as a bindery man, cutting, stitching, folding, letter presses ( large and small).small offset presses, and assisted on web presses. They can make it hard. I never had much issues, as I learned the machines and how to handle paper. Of the twenty years in it, 13 of the years with older equipment, that lacked a lot of safeties of todays equipment. Only times I came close was people walking up be hind to spook me when running the cutter, the one that only required pulling one handle.

A lot of safety going on here! Clearly not American or OSHA would have shut this down with about 50 violations going on.

1.) How old is your country and how old is OSHA? 2.) What % of your population pays income taxes 3.) What % of your economy depends on secondary sector jobs. I could keep adding questions to this list to emphasize why things are different between the two countries in question. One thing I could point out as well is that in the country with OSHA, there is the problem with insane medical bills and in the country this video was shot in, the poorest 50% have free healthcare. Ofcourse neither of these countries are ideal. But few things in life are. The important thing is if there is progress towards the ideal. In the country this video was shot in, I can attest, progress is substantial.
