One of my most cherished memories is of my great Uncle Wendy. He was the kindest, gentlest soul I ever met yet also one of the toughest, most rugged outdoorsmen. He was a retired tank engineer in the US Army and I never once heard a coarse word out of his mouth or him raise his voice. He lived in Watertown, NY and had a beautiful little cottage up on Lake Ontario, Point Peninsula. I would spend several weeks at his cottage running wild with my cousins; we’d swim, go fishing, run up the dirt road to Golden’s Marina, buy shiners and candy, and just have a great time. My Uncle Wendy would leave the cottage before we woke every morning, fish until 10AM, and return with a massive string of 6-10 smallmouth and 10-15 yellow perch. I would religiously watch him clean the fish every single day. I remember being concerned for the fish and he’d tell me “Aw, Chrissy, I’m just takin’ their pajamas off is all.” RIP, Uncle Wendy. I miss you.

Thank you, Sarah and Rob, for cooking and eating bass. It’s all about management when harvesting. My husband and I firmly believe that about both fishing and hunting. We love eating a variety of fish and game. We’ll be in south Florida soon trying out some Everglades seasoning. Hopefully, we’ll be using it on some fresh fish we catch. Keep up the great videos. Looking forward to the next one.

Smallmouth are fun to catch. We put it in a saltwater bath overnight to get most of the blood out of the meat. Then I wash the fish out, dry it, flour it, egg it, then panko bread it, fry it, & eat it all up. Walleye is the best, then crappie, then the bass families. Those are my favorite fishes to eat. Seafood is my 1st love, then fish, the chicken, steaks, roasts, then pork all on the grill best way to cook it. Next time try butter, onion, lemons in a thick tin foil wrap & put it on the grill along with corn on the cob. Oh I'm making myself hungry. Great catch & cook. Be safe, Chris from Missouri

SM Bass! I use ultra light gear it amps the catch experience off the scale! Ohhhh, good eating also! I don't eat LM Bass but SM, almost as good as crappie IMHO. I set the fish in cold salt water in the fridge overnight. Beer Batter: Flour, lots of garlic powder, onion powder and parsley flakes (makes it look awesome), pour beer in till when mixed it's thicker than paint. Rinse salt water off (in cold water) pat dry, strip in 1" pieces, dip in batter, lower into 350 deg oil and BANG! People would line up out the door for this beer battered fish we put out. I love you guys!

Growing up in Indiana my brothers and I would catch smallmouth. We fished wading streams and fishing the deeper pools and covered areas . Our go to bait was soft craws. We caught the hard craws and would keep shedder boxes and when the crawdads would shed we froze them until we were ready to fish. Those days are long over but never forgotten. Most times that was all we have for dinner along side of cornbread and beans.

Even worse, he's in Wisconsin, where craft beer has been a thing before hipster manbuns. There's three things you'll find as soon as there are 500 Cheeseheads close enough together to incorporate a town. 1) Cheese making cooperative. It's egalitarian not socialist :D 2) A farm to table butcher that is the grandson of somebody that would look at you strangely if you tried to explain "farm to table". The cow/pig/fowl is grown on a farm, it ends up on your table, buy stuff that was happy yesterday and tasty tomorrow. 3) AND A BREWERY. Beer is liquid bread, Roberts problem is not that he doesn't like beer, he simply has not been introduced to the right beer yet. And there are 1500 craft breweries in Wisconsin. I'm sure we can find him something better than COORS LITE!

It depends on where you catch the largemouth. If it is a clean lake, you would have trouble telling them apart. Also, if you do another one of these videos, make lemon pepper fish out of em with 0 batter. They are very good that way as well just pan seared with butter, lemon pepper seasoning(or just do it yourself with lemon zester+lemon juice, salt, pepper, touch of garlic) but either way works. Your way looks good though, I'll have to try it. I usually go corn meal+flour for my fish if I put stuff on em. 😊

I guess it's just me, but I find it hard to believe that you have lived in Florida for so long and you've never been creek or pond fishing and caught a small mouth. We use to go fishing over in what's called "Mobile Bay" (between Baldwin County and Mobile County) and fish for small mouth, Sheep head, Croker, bull brim, flat head catfish, as well as setting crab pots (traps/cages, whatever you'd like to call them). I thoroughly enjoyed living in the South and being raised in Baldwin County Alabama. Lord, I sure do miss those days!!!!!
