Hi Peter, great instruction! I ordered the cage just a day before I came across your video, and it works great, especially with this tiny little screw to fix the S1H at its upper right corner with the cage, making the connection rock solid. I could re-use another SmallRig top-handle. One thing I'd like to share with you and your followers is the wooden side grip from SmallRig: I mounted it to the left side of the cage, and it provides unprecedented ease of carrying and balancing that little monster for true run&gun shooting. I would say it reduced camera shake by 50% if not more. Stay safe!

how did you attach the Swivel and Tilt Mount to the handle? I bought them both with the link you provided, but it seems that there is a spacer missing? The Arri locator pins on the swivel and tilt mount don't allow it to screw directly into the handle in the position you have illustrated. Can you please let us know if there is a spacer there? thanks!

Hi Peter, catching up with all your gimbal videos on Weebill S. Saw this one as I also have the S1H and this cage setup. I'm not proficient yet to use a Glidecam so I'm using the Ronin S and it's great with the new firmware updates that has same features as the SC gimble. FYI, if you use this cage standalone without the glidecam, check out the Smallrig aluminum black side handle (can be used for left or right side, am left handed so I use on left side). Part number is HSS2424. There are 2426 with arri mount but the 2424 gives me more flexibility to use on other cage. You can also add it to other cages such as for your GH5. Cheers!

Thanks. Yeah, I have the wooden side handle from smallrig. But I don't use it anymore, because I like to be able to have my hand on the lens so I can pull focus and not shift my hand position form a handle to the lens. And with this setup here, I can pop the camera straight on the glidecam without changing anything.

Yeah, you have to remove them. I find them ignoring, and they rattle against the camera. So off they go.

Hi, No, it is to heavy in the long run, and it is not possible to balance it properly. For gimbal work with the s1h, I use the Crane 3 lab. But my preferred tool is the Glidecam.

Yes, as soon as you connect the cable from the gimbal, you have full control form your thumb: Rec, iso, aperture, shutter speed.
