SmallRig RC220B: Bright + Budget Video Light

I bought this lite over the amaran 1, i hate sidus link. It never works for me. 2 this came with a case and B&H had a deal with the Vmount battery adapter for free. Made it worth it. So far I love it. Worth the investment.

I also picked up a couple of these 220D versions - this video and a major flash sale on B&H sealed the deal. The lights are great. Thanks for all the content, especially for keeping it APS-C. I stick with that format for a number of reasons with no desire to move to full frame if they'll keep the cameras as up to date as the lenses.

Can you tell me if this light has silent mode after update?

@@rafanaluzie2062 I haven't updated anything, but I'll have to look into it. That said, I haven't had any real issues with the sound. I can hear them, but it's not a level that bothers me unless absolute silence was critical and I couldn't work with it in post.

Do you still have 220B? Seems Smallrig silently updated their firmware and introduced SILENT mode + improved fan control. Are you able to update us on this? I wonder what is the silent mode power threshold.

@@rafanaluzie2062 From my subscriber which got that light. There was a firmware update, which u can execute via BT (phone app). Then you got fan modes and "improved fan efficiency".

@@JoATTech because I don't know if buy this light or GlareOne 200D. GlareOne has silent mode but I don't know if Smallrig will be good for my needs (not too loud).

@@rafanaluzie2062 Mam ten sam problem :) And I'm waiting for any of the original reviewers to update on the topic. Asked few under their videos. Few of them said they will post the update within a month. So I'm patiently waiting for any review, while sound of my Godox SL60 kills my videos ;D.

@@JoATTech I'll be tomorrow in Fotoplus Cracow and I'll see if they help me with this. If not, probably I'll buy GlareOne 200 Bi-Color because has better specs (silent mode around 50% of power).
