Lois was destined to be with Clark. It was written in the stars (Lucy), dreams (Commencement), by a psychic (Identity), and by the twice by the Fate Helmet (Absolute Justice, 2 & Icarus). They spent four years developing their friendship, a year for their friendship to blossom into love, and two more years for their love to deepen. Between the writing and the acting, you can see why Lois and Clark needed each other. Lana clearly loves Paris, so she needs to find that rich philanthropist (Apocalypse) to settle down with, and adopt some of those children she’s working hard to save (Valkyrie). Lana deserves to be happy, too.

@ahmed0287 Lana's "selflessness" was forced. She stole Lex's Supersuit to spite him more than to be with Clark. Being Clark's "equal" was icing on the cake. It was all about HER. But it backfired on her and she had NO CHOICE but to become Kryptonite-infected and "save" Metropolis and leave Clark.

@luckyjasonfan totally agree. i don't blame Lana/clark fans for thinking it's the other around. they whole bit with Jor-el having an affair with Lana's great aunt, and Jonathan having dated lana's aunt Nell. They made it seem like they were "star-crossed lovers" who had a second chance. But tht's not the case. you wanna know what really erks me...how they took so many things that Clark did for Lois in the mythology and made him do them for Lana *insert angry face*

@DofRC Yes, exactly. I mean Lana hounded Clark about his secret-keeping for years. That's one of the reasons she was never able to handle it when she found out (by deceiving Chloe and Clark might I add!). She was basically obsessed with it. Although I'm not going to complain about this scene. Chloe did the right thing by telling Lois (in essence) that she was Clark's future (not Lana). If anyone is to tell Lois about the SuperKryptonite stuff, it should be Clark.

@TheMrbollox Every woman knows how to deal with their man.Lois knows Clark enough to know when to baby him, and when to tell him to change (masquerade). I personally love that she has to support him like she does. Without her encouragement, Clark definitely wouldn't be the same. No one else has ever shown him that unwavering love before, except his parents. He's got a lot pressure on him, and it helps to know that someone believes in you no matter what. It shows how in love Lois is as well.

@TheMrbollox ! Yeah, I do remember, the convo they had at the end of Siren. I remember when Lana said that Clark doubts that she is "the one" that he is supposed end up with. He answered that he couldn't see the future. No assurances that she was The One. Then yes, they talked about trust. Yet, she showed up in Season 8 and acquired his powers without telling him about it. Cause SHE thought HE WOULD TRY TO STOP HER. She didn't trust him or to BE WITH him, unless she could have powers too.

@TheMrbollox i've watched this show never knowing ANYTHING about the whole mythology in season 4,and 5, but I STILL loved Lois.Once i saw that dunk scene, i was like "Lana who?" :D I never saw anything special between Clark and Lana. I mean if you HONESTLY want to make it work with someone, you will. I don't think their love was strong enough in the end. @lisdoit4love I think the "sacrifice" that Lois was talking about was just being there for Clark and being willing to be the mate of a superhero who has enormous responsibilities outside of just being with his girlfriend/wife. Lois can't be faulted here b/c she doesn't know the whole story with Lana. Even if she did, I don't think she'd have as much of a problem with it as many seem to think. It was obvious that Clark still was not over Lana when she came back for the S8 arc. Lois knew that.

@DofRC Yeah, but for several reasons it doesn't make sense that Chloe would even tell Lois about the SuperKrypto stuff, not the least of which is the fact that Chloe is Clark's BFF. But also, Chloe is the one who pushed and encouraged Clark to stop hiding his feelings for Lois and pursue a relationship with her RIGHT AFTER Lana left! So even she isn't bothered by what happened in REQUIEM.

@TheMrbollox But reckoning also showed that Jor El would have targeted anyone who Clark loved. When Clark saved Lana, his father ended up dying, and Lois was also almost killed, which coulda meant Clark loved her enough for her to be the person that ended up dying... lol it's a two way street. It's not like Jor El said "oh i'm gunna make up this consequence for you", it was a, "hey u gotta be careful 'cuz if you want to do this the universe will want something in return, so chose wisely"

@Gendanca7 ~ I DO; it shouldn't have taken "fate" or a bomb for Clark to recognize that Lana was bad for him. He should have had the Maturity/Smarts to let her go when she started sleeping with his enemy. Not a shining moment for him when he kept pursuing her despite her relationship, engagement, and "pregnancy". Clark was way too desperate with her; to me, love shouldn't make you do bad things, hurt people, lie, etc. Love should Give you hope & make you Stronger! Lana's love crippled Clark

@TheMrbollox Lois doesn't act like Clark's mom, she acts like a future wife, lol, nagging is what they do, even superman said that about Lois with a smile on his face in the comics :p. It helps that she doesn't want to be dominated by Clark, but equal to him, she doesn't hesitate to voice her opinion. My parents are like Lois /Clark, my mom is strong /loud: Lois, my dad is quiet/ reserved: Clark. They've been married 22 years, and are still going strong,even though she nags him :P

@DofRC And Lana herself told Clark in POWER that she felt like a distraction in his life just as a normal person. She felt that being in the power suit was the only way to support Clark. I'm not saying Lana was a bad person, just that she was very immature and misguided.

@lisdoit4love The popularity of Clana and the fact that this is "Smallville" are the reasons I, to an extent, understand ending that relationship as star-crossed lovers. But I just don't think they had to end them with such a plot as they did in REQUIEM. It could simply have been that they loved each other, but realized they weren't compatible, weren't meant to be together, and had different agendas in life. I don't see how that would have diminished the importance of that relationship.

@TheMrbollox Clark has had a positive effect on everybody. Lois is different. She would still be this tough butt chick, who always speaks her mind, and gets into trouble with or without Clark in her life. But with Clark in her life she has an even stronger sense of morality. I think Lana was so affected by Clark because she never really had a sense of character, she was so impressionable...*coughLexcough* Clark will always have a place in his heart for Lana, but his whole heart belongs to Lois.

@chlorine03 Uh, Lana wasn't "willing" to give Clark up to the world...she was forced to make that tape,and she came back . BUT Lois was willing to fall a1000 stories to her death just to prevent Clark from saving her in front of a street full of cameras so...LOL. I've watched from the beginning, i know the story. Lana and Clark were fine to watch but it was too much at times. Lois and Clark are always interesting to watch from when they couldn't stand each other, to loving each other right now.

Isn't love supposed to empower you, encourage you, support you, challenge you, make you feel at peace? Lois does all those things for Clark. @TheMrbollox Lana didn't need superpowers to "not be a distraction" in his life. She only THOUGHT that she needed superpowers. Clark wanted support and someone he could trust, not an all-powerful equal to himself. And, yeah, the writers messed up their final storyline. But the key is that they messed it up from the start with just the idea of the power suit. The Kryptonite infection was just a by-product of a ridiculous storyline.

That's why practically EVERY man on the show fell in love with her and was very crazy lol I hated that Clark turned back time for Lana; when we know that's what he does for Lois, but they tarnished Clark so much - having him chase after Lana when she was for all he knew, PREGNANT by another man. She loved Lex AND had sex with him before she was "forced" by Lionel. But the show kept Clark obsessed with her. I find that troubling.

You are referring to an interview by an actor, that frankly doesn't seem to have a clue about what is Best for the main character and the show as a whole. She would LIKE to think that about Lana, that's fine. However, the SHOW didn't demonstrate that Lana ONLY got with Lex because she loved him LESS. That's bogus! We saw how much Lana & Lex worked together; how she believed him (when Clark was lying to her) and she trusted Lex

@lisdoit4love Of course she didn't want to hurt Clark. That part is "selfless", but it was her only option, too. What she did in late S7 was truly selfless and ended Clana on positively, but KK had to honor those last 5 eps and do the Lana arc in S8. With regards to S10 and Clois, I just think it's a natural progression of their relationship, but not trying to wash Clana away. Lois has been in love with Clark for a very long time and I think that it is manifesting itself fully now. That's all.

And LOIS was the one that didn't choose to have sex with Clark, when he was trying to get her to go home with him in Disciple- hahaha. She even said, she wanted to get things "right"... but people act like Clark wanted to wait... that's funny to me!! That's why he jumped her in Pandora also...

She Just looked into his eyes and she immediately recognized in him the real Clark. This is called true love! And not a youthful fascination!
