Jimmy was introduced in season 6 and married Chloe in season 8, and Chloe only got involved with him because the writers dragged the Clark/Lana thing on way too long and resisted putting Clark and Chloe together after their kiss in the season 5 finale. Jimmy just showing up out of the blue in season 6 seemed illogical, and I never felt that Chloe had ever stopped loving Clark.

That was a bullshit excuse they came up with after they killed him. The bottom line is that he was brought on as "the Jimmy Olsen" in season 6 and the only reason they killed him is because of the budget for season 9 (they knew they would be bringing on Zod and they didn't want to kill off or let Chloe go from the show through some other means like the way Lana left). I think by season 9 Lois should have completely replaced Chloe's screentime and should have been in all 22 episodes while Chloe at most could have been a recurring character. Killing off Jimmy Olsen to keep non-canon characters around who had long outlived their purpose was just a very bad idea.

Oliver makes a lot of mistakes this season that come back to haunt him in the following season and Clark didn't trust him after he murdered Lex so it was understandable that he wouldn't listen to him. Clark just doesn't kill period, that's not who he is.

Aaron did a fantastic job playing Jimmy Olsen as he was portrayed both in the comics & in the old movies. he was set up as "The real Jimmy" & then suddenly when the old writers left & it was put in new hands who wanted to be more in line with the mythos & the fact Jimmy was several years younger than Lois and Clark, they came up with this half brained scheme. now i'm all for getting back to Superman mythology like way less Lana and way more Lois but the Jimmy thing was unnecessary.

They didn't call him Jimmy, but in the interview with Kelly Sounders, she said "althought it isn't stated in the show, we give a feel that the Olsen at the end of the series, is the Jimmy we are all familiar with", The boy she gives the camera to, follows in his brothers footsteps, and becomes the "Jimmy" fromt the movies.

Jimmy's name is revealed to be Henry James Olsen, not James Bartholomew Olsen, like it is in the comics. Ashmore would later play James Bartholomew in the last portion of the finale, which takes place in 2018.

That's why Clark actively fought against his plan to kill Davis. Chloe was most to blame for Davis though since she got too attached to him and stopped Clark from sending him to the Phantom Zone because of that.

This was such a WEAK cop-out. No one called him "Henry" the entire season (or however long he was on the show) but because they wanted to kill him off and stream-line the cast, "Oh. ....uhhhh.. .yeah, even though EVERYTHING we've written about him says he should be the Jimmy Olsen you know...uhhh....it's his brother! Yeah, yeah, his brother! That's it!" This was when Smallville was really getting poor writing and just needed to end. Unfortunately, it went on two-four seasons too long.

I think the biggest copout was killing him the way they did and creating this disgusting excuse that he wasn't the real Jimmy when it was clear as day he was Smallville's version of the Jimmy Olsen from the very first time he appeared in season 6. If someone had to die to make budgetary room for Zod in season 9 (which is the only reason he was killed), it should have been Chloe because she was a non-canon character who had long outlived her purpose on the show and because it she was by far the most to blame for keeping Davis'/Doomsday's murders a secret and stopping Clark from sending him to the Phantom Zone in Injustice. It would have been a nice way to redeem her character after she shacked up with the guy who attacked her ex-husband on their wedding day. and whose primary mission was to kill Clark, her supposed best friend. I always liked Jimmy's interactions with Clark & Lois on this show. The actors worked very well together and had a lot of great chemistry. It was such a shame we didn't get to see that continue.

Chloe makes me so mad with her relationship with Oliver, leaving him a letter talking about how he was the love of her life. What about Jimmy? I feel so bad for "Henry". um, i think you missed my point. during the whole time "Jimmy" played by Aaron Ashmore was on Smallville Jimmy was not his middle name. his name was James Olsen and they called him Jimmy. the writers who have taken over, because Millar and Gough have turned the show over, decided to become more true to canon so they made Jimmy not the real Jimmy so they could have a younger one. Henry wasn't his middle name in SV either if you were paying attention to the clip, it was apparently his first name.

No. He isn't. This has nothing to do with any Superman movies. The kid is "Jimmy's" little brother. He was never named, even when shown in the series finale's "2018" scene, also played by Aaron Ashmore. By rights, he should have been "James Bartholomew Olsen", but that'd make him a "Jimmy" too (as he'd be in other versions of Superman), so we have no idea what his name really was, or what he was called. In 2018, Lois only called him "Olsen".

Chloe and Ollie felt they knew the threat better than Clark and decided to move Clark away even though Doomsday was a threat neither could handle. Especially since Doomsday is Kryptonian, and Clark knew the most about it. But Oliver wanted to use Kryptonite to take Clark out and Chloe decided to use black Kryptonite after running away with Davis/ having a "I love him, I don't love him" thing while married to Jimmy.

True - I just hate when it's overplayed. They have a habit of going overboard in some of them - there's no need to simply KILL everyone to emphasise it. Agreed. Alfred G and Miles M. were much more BOLD in their writing, more original. Why did it suddenly transpire that Aaron's Jimmy WASN'T the original? It just goes with the repetitive theme in SV of 'following in his footsteps'. It was good before, but it gets weak. But I admire how they depicted Jimmy's redemption and death, and what it symbolised. It also sets up Clark's 'darkest hour' for Season 9. But GOD, the show is now far too angsty. If CHLOE dies I'll ignore what happens next
