I will always love the fact that no version of Lex Luthor could ever accept that a Clark Kent would just want a simple life, powers or no powers. This is the same brand of character that had a computer built specifically to figure Superman's secret identity, and then trashed it for being "worthless", because it told him it was Clark Kent, and he could mever accept that a super powerful being would settle for such a mundane identity.

This is the thing with Lex Luthor. He always thinks about power, and having more power. He can't envision someone disregarding power or not using it for whatever reason. I'm actually surprised he let this Clark go so easily even with the kryptonite test. This Supes could've found some kind of way to avoid being affected by Kryptonite. There's been stories like this in the comics actually. IMO in a "real" Luthor vs Clark encounter, Luthor would still have him killed. But of course nobody wanted that to happen in that scene lol.
@Mike_Dubo
@Mike_Dubo Жыл бұрын
@@TheFlamingPike Kinda disagree on that last notion. To Lex, a Superman who gives up his power is no longer Superman. What would be the point of killing him afterwards? It would be too easy for Lex, and he could never live with himself, if the only Superman he could ever kill, was one that didn't have powers. His own pride won't allow it.

Michael Rosenbaum was the best Lex Luthor. He made the character compelling. In Smallville, I actually felt that Lex would have not been anything resembling a bad guy if Clark had been honest, and Jonathon hadn't ingrained fear into him. As good of a character Tom Welling's Clark was... I would have sided with Lex. All he needed from Clark was the truth, but Smallville's Clark Kent was a pathological liar. LEX WINS.

And it will really feel nice when the anti-matte kills him ,Lois and his kids ! Clark apparently has gotten senile in his old age because the multiverse winking out of existence didn't register with him and apparently with all the fans who gushed and said "gee what a nice ending!" As for Lois, didn't the ace reporter notice the bald man with the big book steeping into a giant portal their barnyard ? Maybe she should have her eyes checked? Oh, wait she didn't need to since her and her whole universe got erased because Clark couldn't be bothered to try and save them. The fact that Tom Welling and Erica Durance and the show runners were ok with this ending shows that they really didn't give a sh*t about the fans . This scene ruined Smallville for me I can never watch those reruns again!

This was one of the best scenes from the whole big crossover event. Not just because we get to see what became of Clark and Lois after Smallville's run ended, but also because it was well written and a welcome surprise. "Can't say I miss these chats." Big hint that a LOT of people in the Smallville universe didn't want him to give up his powers. Interesting. "The girls made a mess." In most universes, he has a son (or sons), but in this one he has daughters. Intetesting. I wonder if they'll inherit his powers like his daughters in the Secret Identity universe. Hmm...

He loved Lana Lang indeed. But he never bothered to used the legion ring to turned back the time in helping Lana to cure from that kryptonite in her blood. He decided to moved on. Their relationship was just exhausting with all the secret and lies back and forth through the years. A man can have true love to a woman. But like in real life, he can find another real love again . Smallville Clark find that again with Lois Lane. For them , it was love is friendship set on fire. It grew through the years. There was mutual trust,respect and sharing the same values in life. They were genuine with each other. And never put each other in a pedestal. Lois is THE love of Clark's life. The one who made him stronger, as he told her in the Pandora episode.

I choose to believe this Clark Kent embraced being Superman ( as seen by the news articles on the wall), which also aligns with the season finale of Smallville where he learns to embrace his powers. We know this eventually leads to forming the Justice League. Maybe...just maybe....there are enough heroes in this Multiverse that Superman wasn't needed anymore. This is Clark's reward for a job well done. He embraced the cape, then hung up the cape, and passed the torch to other heroes that keep Earth-167 protected. Also, if you look closely you'll see Clark's watch (Timestamp 3:58) has a Blue Kryptonite core inside. He can always regain his powers if he needs to come out of "retirement".

@Power106Fan No, even when he became the Blur I thought a lot of the time the writers unintentionally wrote him as quite stupid during scenes especially involving him in relationships or during fights. I think a lot of it has to do with the writers having to underpower Clark by making him make poor choices so he doesn’t defeat the enemy in less than a second. But yes, he did mature a lot especially after his mental trials with Jor El.

Since then I've been rewatching SS8-10 in an unhealthy amount of time cos I'm so totally in love with Tom's Clark and Erica's Lois! Both of them together on screen is an epitome of a real chemistry! It's such a shame that their romance in the series only have about 3 SS. Then, I found this vid and it was such a fulfilment feelings to see their happily ever after together! Really wish there would be a special episode (s) of Smallville that giving us a glimpse of Clark and Lois with the girls in their farm...even willing to pay if anyone doing the crownfund to make it happens!😂

She convinces him to go back to the fortress and regain his powers. He does so, and we get a new 3 season show called "Man of Tomorrow" where Clark finds his way through the years as Superman. Smallville's Lois Lane is without a doubt the best version we have had so far..... And Tom as Superman is exceptional as ever. ♥️

Oh my god she is ny favorite Lois. She really won me over. I originally thought of her as kinda a nosey pest like most Lois' but I LOVE Smallvilles Lois, especially in the last seasons, the last seasons were not my favorite but honestly SHE (and Clark and a bit of Chloe) was why I stayed to watch the show till the end. Once she knows/suspects Clark is superman/The Blur she is 100% kick ass and suuper supportive and I love it

Plus you've got to give her credit -- THIS Lois was never fooled by a pair of glasses! She's the sassiest, snarkiest, sexiest, most Lois-y Lois Lane of them all!

Second best, and then only because Erica based much of her version on the best one. The best Superman anything so far, is from The New Adventures Of Lois & Clark. None over, and none besides. That is not debatable!!! well, of cause it is. This is about taste after all. But In my opinion TNAOLC had the best Lois, the best Superman, the best Lex Luthor etc.etc. Maybe with the exception of Cat Grant. That one probably goes to the Super Girl series.

Tom Welling along with the entire cast of Smallville is and always will be the best thing CW has managed to give us. Shows aren't written like this anymore. Him and Michael Rosenbaum are the best duo that has existed. Their dynamic is just so rare. I would love to see them on another project together. Ps. I'm sorry Jon Cryer but you just won't do.

@@TheMelinaTerry yeah. You’re right. It was a pretty good show. It went a little too long with the kryptonite monster people theme for awhile, but they ended up expanding the storyline a little more which was good

When you see 1.5 million views in less than a day, you know Tom Welling catches the whole attention. I’m also glad that Smallville was made because not just of its nostalgia, but the characterization of Clark Kent and how deep and connected it was too other people. Yet again we may not see Tom welling again as Clark Kent in the future, but we should enjoy how we got one last shot to see him again.
