I think your video tapped into something - in the final Arrow crossover where the heroes go to the Smallville universe and Clark's given up his powers to run the farm and be a dad. He gets told in no uncertain terms that the universe is ending and he doesn't flinch, doesn't hesitate, he just walks into the farmhouse and spends the last of his time with his family having a happy afternoon.
