In October of 2011 my father died. I accepted it as he had been ill for quite a while. I went off the deep end and allowed meth to imprison me. Less than 60 days later I got slammed again. I had only heard one or two songs by Nickelback until December 11th and I played "If Today Was Your Last Day". I know listened to it least a dozen times and said aloud "Little sister, I hope you're right with God". At 2:42 my phone rang and a doctor told me that my little sister was not going to make it thru surgery. Of course I was devastated. Then I realized that the song was playing on my computer. And something told me (God) that Cheree was fine. She did live each day as if it were her last. We played the song at her funeral. Now I listen to ALL of Nickelback's songs. Truthfully, their awesome heart filled music greatly helped me thru the worst time in my life.

From 1 widow to another, take care of yourself, make sure to eat and drink often even if you dont feel the need to, rest, reach out if it gets too much and lean on those that are willing. I love the song and the meaning behind it. I had lost my father in the 90's, and I wish I could have gotten the chance to tell him I loved him before he passed. My last words to him that I Still regret to this day were "I hate you". Not realizing that that would be the final time I would get to talk to him. Now I make sure to tell those I love that I love them. Like the song says, what If today was your last day? What would you say to those you love? Would you do anything differently before you're gone?
