Callum and Michael Shannon are the two best versions. Really no contest. Terrance's performance was good, but his character was written very cartoony. More laughable than threatening. Callum and Michael were very threatening in the role and just had a sort of presence that just hasn't been matched since.

This is arguably the most disturbing scene in the series. There aren't many moments as much sad and dramatic in Smallville. Anyway, there should have been more Zod/Faora scenes before this shocker, and more depth to their relationship, but shamefully, almost all of it is off-screen. Solid acting from both, also, you can really see how the characters feel. I think Faora stood still and chose death because she didn't want to have her baby corrupted by his father in the future, after discovering the truth about Zod, nor to give him a heir - otherwise she would have told him to spare them, and/or shown him the flower; instead, as mentioned, she sacrifices their lives. Later, the master of manipulation uses her death to win back the loyalty of his soldiers. I feel so sorry for her, although this episode was needed for Zod's final development as a super villain. Still one of the best and most layered characters, always interesting to watch, hateful yet charming!

Mason, Mason, Mason. :) God, Callum Blue has such range as an actor. It's phenomenal. He's a drugged up (but endearing) screwball in Dead Like Me, a proper courtier in The Tudors, a gentlemanly prince in Princess Diaries 2, and then he goes and plays the amazingingly evil Zod.

The sad thing is Faora could have prevented her death just by telling Zod he was a father. I get he's bad but she's as much to blame for what happened as Zod is she put her own ideals before her child's life which is pretty messed up. In my opinion Zod didn't kill his child Faora did.
