@@IgorStropnik So , there were huge war games called Podgora 72 , our unit in those bunkers was supposed to hit a target drone being pulled by a tugboat . We had old Ansaldi guns 105 mm that were given as part of war compensation by Italy . Anyway I was more concerned that the gun might explode and kill us all than hitting the drone . Btw we missed the target and happily survived .

You have me convinced. I want to sail Croatia! I have enjoyed your videos since I saw your film of your Laser II sail of the Adriatic some time ago. What is minimum size cruising sailboat available for charter in Croatia? Is crewed charter recommended? I am a very experienced ocean sailor, but the "local knowledge" harbors and secluded spots are worth more than having to be captain for a week.

is there a habour wifi in the bays around the world? what are the best ways to go online on sea?
@bonsai3547 Жыл бұрын
Access to Wi-Fi in bays and harbors around the world can vary greatly depending on the location and infrastructure. Some marinas and harbors offer Wi-Fi services to boaters and sailors, but the quality and availability of these services can be inconsistent. Here are some ways to go online while at sea: Marina and Harbor Wi-Fi: Many marinas and harbors in developed areas provide Wi-Fi access to boaters. However, the signal may be limited to certain areas of the marina, and the quality of the connection can vary. Some may charge for access or offer it for free to guests. Cellular Data: Cellular networks often extend to coastal areas, allowing you to use your mobile device's cellular data connection for internet access. Ensure you have a suitable data plan, and be aware that signal strength can weaken as you move farther from the coast. Satellite Internet: Satellite internet is a reliable option for staying connected at sea. There are maritime satellite internet providers that offer global coverage. Equipment costs and subscription fees can be relatively high, but the service is generally stable and offers high-speed internet access. Long-Range Wi-Fi Antennas: Some boaters install long-range Wi-Fi antennas on their vessels to access distant Wi-Fi networks, such as those in harbors or nearby businesses. These antennas can extend your range, but they require setup and configuration. Sailor-Focused Wi-Fi Services: There are companies that cater specifically to the needs of sailors and provide Wi-Fi access solutions at sea. These services often combine satellite connectivity with Wi-Fi hotspots on board. Inmarsat and Iridium: Companies like Inmarsat and Iridium offer satellite communication solutions, including internet access, suitable for maritime use. These services are often used for both communication and data access while at sea. Offshore Internet Cafes: In some coastal areas, you might find offshore internet cafes or vessels that offer internet access to passing boaters. These are mobile Wi-Fi services designed for boaters. Keep in mind that the availability of these options may vary depending on your location and your vessel's capabilities. It's a good idea to plan ahead, research the connectivity options for your specific cruising area, and ensure you have the necessary equipment and plans in place to stay connected while at sea. Additionally, consider redundancy in your connectivity solutions, as being without internet access can be a challenge, especially for longer sea journeys.
