With the HUD, the Beats audio and the leather seats, this seems to be the Premium version, not the Pro Plus, unless smart unluckily renamed the models for Ireland, which I don't suspect.

Exactly what I thought. Colleague of mine has ordered the premium and it has the beats and HUD. Also, the wheel caps come off to reveal nice alloys.

Drag coefficient is 0.27 and if you remove the wheel covers you'll find quite pretty alloys, albeit a bit less aerodynamic

Have not driven the Brabus, but the 3 will feel like a nicer car overall. Whether it’s as much fun as the VZ, I can’t say.

I think it’s the quality mostly. Teslas are not the best cars in terms of building quality or sturdiness.

Look very generic to me, appears to be a large gap where the front bumper meets the wing… i guess durability and longevity are the main considerations with bev’s…

It’s not a gap, there is a plastic or rubber seal. Fit & finish seem really good with these cars as mentioned in the video, reliability remains to be seen but ev’s have much less parts to go wrong and it’s the same platform as Volvo, plus they sell it through Mercedes network… Personally I’ve got more trust in this than some other Chinese/American brands

Another great review Mark. The interior looks great but the exterior is bland. I know its to help aerodynamics but there's nothing "sexy" about the car - SEAT's new Tavascan has gotten that right. Prices are too high but with the way EVs depreciate, you'd probably pick one up for €25k after a year.

It’s a nice car but it’s not flawless (just to name a few issues: ADAS and matrix led issues, general software bugs, charging handshake issues, not very efficient, high charging rate only available at low SOC but below 10% it will snail-charge for quite some time before it ramps). Price should not be as high as it is.

Don't know if you own one but I do and can agree that no car is perfect but the one I have the only thing that is bothering me is the EU mandated alarms which are a pain to eliminate each time you start the car. In my Premium efficiency has been very good with 19kWh/100km at 120 so no complaints, much less in normal driving. No handshake but have not used fast charging as home charging enough with the 22kW peak which I have yet to use as I set limit at 11kW. Have not seen another EV with the premium feel you get in this car for the price.

@@elmojito I don't own one, though I was VERY close to ordering one but didn't pull the trigger since when ordering was possible for the first time in December '23 it was 5k€ more expensive than the smart #1 and not 2k€ more expensive which is what they had told us previously for months. I agree with you that you do get a lot for the price and especially if you want a shorter car the #3 is still extremely competitive. If you don't care about length however with current rebates you can get for example new Hyundai IONIQ 5 or BMW i4 for roughly the same price as the #3 Brabus which are bigger and much more long range capable cars with less bugs. Personally I'm now leaning towards a used Genesis GV60 which should be available for less than a new #3 due to low used-market-prices (I like the GV60 because just like the #3 it's reasonable short). Regarding the stupid mandated alarms: All new cars now have them but I heard multiple times that BMW has a long-press-1-button-on-the wheel shortcut to silence it. It's such a stupid insane regulation. I actually WANT a notification about me exceeding the speed limit. But if it must notify me at 1km/h above the limit then I can only disable it each single time so it then won't then notify me if I accidently drive 55 in a 30 km/h zone which I would LIKE to be notified about.

@@geraldh.8047 I hear you and mostly agree about the alternatives but in Spain the i5 or Ioniq 5 new are substantially more and although one could go there I did not. I did not want the Brabus as I did not feel I needed the 400+ hp and the 270 are much more than enough. But, I as for me I do enjoy driving the #3, it is quite a bit of fun for a 72 year old coming from a RAV4. I have had my lot of Audi, BMW, MB and Jaguar but frankly this is a lot more fun to drive the big 5m ones from those brands.

All I can see is the mini paceman, which was out more than 10 years ago so nothing new here and if you like the design save yourself £30,000 and buy mini paceman 😉

I thought the incoming wave of Chinese cars were supposed to be cheap? €38.7k starting price, up to 55k. Worse range than M3 RWD. Worse than MY. I can't see Smart selling any cars here at those prices.
