Not in Ireland they’re not. 65 for a Lexus and 140k for a passenger LC.

I have a 22 4x4 tdi vRS and it sounds like it'll be my last!! I've had every mark of vRS since getting my mk1 back in 2006.. Skoda need to put the 4x4 system on the tsi variant, I've said that for years. But then it'll kick the backsides of the equivelent VW or Audi and I think the VAG Group don't want that... just my humble opinion of course.

Is it the same as the previous HS where the engine comes on if you turn on the heater or AC whilst in EV mode?

The trick with the temperature control is ramp it up initially to clear the screen, then bring it back down to 24degrees and put it on auto. That works on the MG3 Hybrid and keeps the screen clear without the fan running at top speed.

The side steps are part of a kind of lightweight L-angle-beam structure which both contains and supports the very shallow floor-wide battery size and weight (which is why you have a big boot, and a flat rear seating area floor), and also gives horizontal stability/stiffness against the horizontal torque/twist force that the very heavy battery induces when going round corners at speed. So it's just a gentle structural help to the car which the petrol version doesn't need, as it doesn't have a massive under the floor heavy slab throwing itself around when you turn the steering wheel. If they had tried to hide it then the car would have to be wider, or the battery would have to be slimmer, thus reducing it's range, which is it's key selling point. They just dressed it up as something with an old nostalgic name! Just saying!!
@NobbyOnCarsКүн бұрын
Interesting. They should’ve added an inch or two to the width of them to make them useable.
@TheRealSlimSteveКүн бұрын
@@NobbyOnCars They could have done Nobby, but then they would have had to massively increase the section size of the structure, to assume that they would actually have to start taking proper loadings if the steps were really usable (ie several people standing on it at speed, because human beings and students do stupid things), and given that loading calculations are logarithmic then you would be talking seriously massive steel sections, as well as legal liability issues for making a dangerous vehicle. It just wouldn't work. I think basically that they came up with a fab battery/size/car space/range solution, but found that structurally, it just nipped the dimensions available, so they came up with a creative solution. Let the structural requirements just tweak outside the car, which no car manufacture ever does, with the sleekness desired in car design. I think it's clever, and they just doubled the Hybrid range by doing so. Clever thinking and bucking the rules always works 😁

Makes no sense that they left out usb c, since the MG3 hybrid has two of them. Other than that, it looks a decent vehicle. Not sure about putting the kids in the boot though.

Really good review Nobby and unlike other presentations I’ve watched on your channel Ilm not going to rush out and bought one. The seating position is a killer for me, the poor ride stability, poor placement of two outer screens, cheap plastics, lack of real fast charging and more just put me off. If I had a Pound for every time you compared the car with an MX-5 (or the 911) I'd be a wealthier man. You just can't put those two in the same category as the Cyberstar. For a first attempt and for people who aren't interested in chassis dynamics and indeed the others lack of attention to design. In 3 year and £30kGBP? Hmmm. possibly! Thanks for another honest and informative review. Have you tested the new BMW Z4 M40i 6-speed manual?

Hi Firstly may I just say I find your reviews excellent, very informative. I am currently looking at buying a new suv either 24 Skoda Kodiaq PHEV sport line or a Peugeot e5008 98 kw - I am not sure which one is best. Wondering if you had any thoughts on which one you would go for? Thank you
@NobbyOnCarsКүн бұрын
I'd stick to the smaller battery 5008 for starters. Then it's an easier comparison as the prices are a little similar. The Kodiaq may have better residuals, it's too early to tell right now though. If you're happy to go PHEV, I'd always say just go EV but that isn't an option in the Kodiaq obviously. If you can charge at home on a driveway then the 5008 is fine, if you can't, I'd go Kodiaq.

You never mentioned that BMW should have kept the buttons and knobs for adjusting the temp, AC, fan etc. They could have made them look jazzy and similar to what we have at present. BMW you've screwed up. Obviously the designers don't contact every day punters like myself to ask what we think about the changes.
