Thanks for uploading this! I own a 2016 model with the TomTom Media System. I have been looking into upgrading to a CarPlay receiver. Do you have any advice? Is it actually doable or am I stuck with the TomTom unit?

Most units are plug and play. I am in the process of adding DAB to mine and re coding android auto and reverseing camera fully oem style for around £40 instead of £700 lol. Unfortunately, you can't code carplay only android and mirror link atm.

I’ve watched a few of your videos and just ordered the auto wipers and lights stalk, I’m going to attempt the software download too for the wipers…. With the head unit, do you know if the head unit from the passion (non screen) can be a direct swap for a screen one (original) I know I can put a aftermarket one but not a fan…..any advise would be appreciated buddy

Thank you. If I remember rightly there is an issue with wiring and so on. Tbf I have the touchscreen stereo and unless you do a android auto / carplay and DAB upgrade its pretty rubbish. By the time you have messed around with all that and purchasing all the required headunit for the touchscreen. You be better off getting the purpose made pioneer kit. Has everything you want and more, plus its plug and play with fitting kit and new bezels.

@@rismael9837 I have not as yet installed the amplifier in this car as I put it in the mercedes instead. I have a install video on that which would have the general basics. I will however have one soon for the smart.

@@rismael9837 depends what you want out of the sound system. I wanted a balanced overall quality as opposed to shake the car bass. I would use genuine jbl speakers from mercedes as they are very cheap and are plug and play can supply you the parts numbers if you wish? Then a little active sub like i used in the mercedes to balance out the sound.
