Hi Alex, Do you know if SwitchBot still sell the rainbow version of the hub ? Seem like is not available on their website. In addition, for the Hub Mini does it comes with the UK/SG plug or we need to use an adapter ? Didn't see any option to choose UK/SG Plug on their website.

like the features, setup was difficult for some of my devices (August Door lock, kzbin.infoUgkxhB5YOMNj04GuoAosExygP4cH-dKeb4aB Bose speaker)... but all switches and outlets (5), thermostat, tankless water heater. Unfortunately all I can do is turn on/off Bose. It doesn't support volume or changing channels, but I believe that is due to the particular speaker I have.... Worth getting if you already have other devices to use it with... I don't sit around and ask Alexa questions much so that doesn't really matter to me....

Hi Alex, My beloved home is equipped with Amazon alexa controlled tech . Voice commanding my Smart TV, touch screen wall control and 2 x Eufy 11C robot vacuum. Which i love all the High tech ( Iron man inspired ) experience. The only tech left for my house is the same as what you mention in the beginning of your Smart curtain video. I am searching high and low for comparison of different brand and type of Smart WiFi robot. And I saw your video of this Switchbot gadget. Totally love it and wish to have a set of White to try it out. If its suitable and able to link with my alexa . I would get it for all my bed rooms X 3 + living room . Privacy is an utmost importance in my family household, having a huge 2x5m window, my family always have to close and open the big curtains at the start and end of the day. May I ask for the aqara version of motorized curtains, you mention something like “if you want the curtain to open and close from two sides then need to get two.” May I check with the default selection, the curtain opens from the middle? What if I want to buy one that open and close from the same side too (it is a small window, no point opening from center)?

Hi Alex, would love to win the black one for my bf as he currently has to pull the curtain and use some books on the bay window to hold the curtain in place as he is too lazy to use the tie-backs. Seriously, it's quite silly to do automatic curtains in Singapore. Firstly, most houses in Singapore are HDB and not like overseas where they have 8m long curtains. So why the need to have automated curtains when it can just be a pull away to close or open the curtains? Secondly, it is so slow to use the automated curtain when one single pull, the curtain is closed. All the settings to open or close the curtains or specific commands (eg. Movie time) to close the curtain is also silly cos as mentioned earlier, it is only a HDB and if you want to close the curtain to watch a movie, just close it manually in 1 second rather than having to use automation to close it sllloowwwly. And not forgetting that after a few years, the system bound to spoil just like any other electrical stuff. Agree with your other recommendations on other robots but for curtains, it's a rather silly thing.

actually it depends on your usage, frequency, placement, not really how long is the curtain. But 100% agree that the size of the house matters a lot, so typically big house with a 2/3 levels benefit more from using smart home. If there is a tier list of the usefulness of various smart home features, I will place curtains slightly above average, maybe its also because I am so lazy to walk over to all the curtains everyday to open/close multiple times haha. It's not really 1 second though, its also how you are able to set a bunch of actions within a routine. So to the eg. Movie Time, it can 1 switch on tv, 2 close curtain, 3 switch on fan switch, 4 switch on fan speed, 5 switch on tv backlight, while I can go get myself a nice drink some snacks and sit on the sofa with all the rest done for you!

yeah and battery life depends on your usage, saw another youtuber test it out 24/7 non stop open/close and it lasts for 4 days

if you say 'close/open' curtain, it will close/open all the way. You can also say like 'close curtain 30%' then it will do accordingly
