When you turn star on next go back into the search by vehicle type select the correct chassis type, then once that next page comes up asking for specific stuff just push the button at the bottom of the screen that should auto search it all for you, keep the cool videos coming

If it is the original key on any Mercedes Benz product the easy solution is as follows: Disconnect battery in car, remove battery from key, reinstall key battery, reinstall car battery, lock and unlock door with key(not button) then start car.... This works on all Mercedes

Hey there, hopefully you still receieve notifications on this. I just now have a similar problem. Immobilizer is not disengaging, doors opening while using the 'rear entry' though. Keyfob remote does not work at all. I'm not getting a 9x Flash of either the harzards or the brakes, neither the clicking sound. I got my spare key aswell, exact same issue. Now.. it's either the Receiving unit fucking up (due to desync, possibly, though I basically drove half an hour, then got out and locked the car, beeing away barely 5 minutes until the issue) Or BOTH fobs batteries are dead (probably more likely since I've had the issue where my car wouldnt lock properly ONCE and that resolved itself after pressing a few more times.. that was months ago tho) Though I always keep my keys in my front pocket, there's barely a possibility of the keys beeing pressed, let alone 100 times or however many times SAM/whatever pre-calculates codes.. I'll be going to my dealership tomorrow (luckily right around the corner) and get new batteries (all shops were closed at this time) plus maybe will need to get the car towed and keys reprogrammed. Hopefully that'll fix everything.

Oh, and all the electronics are working. (Just to prove dead battery assumptions wrong.)

Yeah, I got it sorted out quite quickly. My main key ran out of battery, the spare aswell. Now I did try around with my main key, that's why it ran out of sync, while I just put new batteries from my trusty 'specialists' into both, and they reprogrammed my main key. I did try manually reprogramming with the different button combinations etc, but none of those worked. (My spare was still in sync, so all it cost me was the reprogramming and 2 new batteries, basically 50 bucks with the minor inconvenience of noticing when shops had already closed and leaving the car with my dealership for an hour the following day.)

Hi everyone and especially to Louis. I had a Smart Fortwo 450 today in an AKL scenario. This particular car came from Japan and when I tried to program a key, the SAM unit did not accept the key even though the diagnostic tool told me that adaptation was successful. After that I thought that I didn't had the right keys as I have a European key with 433 MHz. I know Japanese cars come with 315 MHz remote but the think is I searched everywhere for a 315 MHz key and they do NOT exist. *Has anybody came across anything like this?*

wardybasher Hi Yes I do know about the water issue... For a long time the star was on my wish list... until I got this car and because the MaxiSys couldn't do it, I decide was time to get one... I got it on eBay, but the seller also has its own website... look for a seller with a good feedback and that inspires trust... I also got 12 months warranty!

I have 2006 450 which does acknowledge sync with SAM and Key. All indications show key code is being accepted. Problem is when the ignition is turned to start, and gear shift placed in Neutral, the dash display indicates gearbox is in Park. The dash will not indicate Neutral but stays in Park regardless of shifter position. . of course the vehicle does not start. Any suggestion from seeing this problem before?

We have a smart car that was donated to my school it will not start The person who had it before they parked it I believe it was running but it went to try to start it to bring it to the school would not start pretty sure it’s at for roughly a year what could it be it cranks all the glow plugs light up but it does take a long time for the dash glow plug symbol to go away on a hot sunny day because the diesel be bad and that’s why it’s not starting There’s not even a single sign of it want to start

Hi I have the same problem with my 450 fortwo. I called locksmith and he says he cannot find a transponder signal and telling me that my key does not have (or lost) transponder and thats why it does not work. So my question is.. did this key really lost a transponder or could it be that locksmiths machine cannot detect this particular key's transponder? And also, If I order in a set of new keys, do you think he program this key? (He said he does not have a star machine though) He said its easy but I am a bit worried since it looks like it does not work with some machines as you say. Hi If you watched the entire video, you would see that I have explained that this key does not have a transponder.... Star obviously will re-syncronise the key, but it might be other tools out there capable of that... I would find someone with a star or with the correct knowledge and equipment.... I also tried running it with the a/c off it runs actually good and fast but still i can feel the shifting is a bit rough and late. Do you think the problem is just the clutch? i already change the spark plugs so i dont really know whats causing it to vibrate

ArvinSan25 Turning the AC on pulls extra load from the engine, but this should increase the idling rpms to compensate... unless something is wrong with your AC pump... is the AC working ok?

Yes ac works fine and its cold. And your right it should increase the rpm but mine dont do that if i dont put gas when turning the ac on my engine shakes and when i let go of the gas the engine shakes. But before all of this happen. I let someone fix the car since the ac of my car sucks when i bought it. Im suspecting the mechanic guy might have change my ac compressor to a bigger one that makes heavier load on engine right? i havent check it though .Our country dont really have a smart dealership and a 600cc cars so he might have change it. So the problem right now is either the ac compressor or ac pump? i really dont know tbh but still im using the car even though it shakes

ArvinSan25 When I said pump I meant compressor... sorry... That's a possibility... but not really sure... you need to ask him... I am not sure if you can increase the rpms when the AC is turned on using star... but probably you can... that would be a good solution...

Callher C Hi that's the service light. If you look carefully, while that is flashing, under the gear change window a number comes up... in this one -89 or something like that... that means that the service is overdue by 89 miles... ( I am 99.9% sure that that is miles...) Thank you for watching!

Jason K Hi The keys cost (here in the UK...), about £70 each... And I am sure that any independent garage or Mercedes specialists will not charge all that to program it... Hello there... I have a smart roadster 2004. Need your advice. The key sign is blinking on meter but there is no button on key are working. I programmed the key and it started but when i turned off the engine then key stopped working again and key signs appears again. My technician says it is the key signal relay problem that comes under the handbrake panel. May be it was not passing the signal to the SAM or ECU. What do you suggest?

So hello from 2023. I have fortwo 2006 450 that has been out of commission for the last 4 years due to this problem. My location is not anywhere near UK or europe. So where can fet the software to unlock this stupid immobilizer. Can you bypass it all together. Because its an import car even the local mercedes dealer gave up.

Chrisis Alkiviades I thought I have explained it quite well in the video... If you have the 9 times blinking then your key need re-syncronise... If not, you need to check first that the key is actually transmitting... Hope that helps...
