Only if your source is from an external hdmi device! Smart tvs with built in video apps wont work same as regular tv channels if connected to an aerial wont work! It will only work on external devices like sky/cable box, games console or the likes of a fire stick!

I’ve set it all up but when I use the app the colours don’t correspond with what is on the leds (they just flash red and I cannot change them) what do I do?

Right so do you need another hdmi device in order for it to use it? Say i wanna watch Netflix on my tv that doesn’t need extra hdmi as it already has it on the tv how do i make the lights work without another device?

Hi, it will only work with an external source. Built-in smart functions of the TV won’t work as you need to connect the source to the HDMI sync box.

@@letspes2352 you would need to get the TV to re-transmit the HDMI signal for all sources including its own internal thin client (i.e. smart TV functions) which isn't likely to happen. The closest thing we have to this currently is e-ARC (enhanced audio return channel) where the TV will spit out the audio portion of itself and any of its inputs for the purpose of returning that audio be it LPCM or AC3 etc to a sound bar or AV receiver, that said the video isn't included in this. This is an old idea originally done by Phillips under the name Ambilight and shipped on several of their TV's.

LOL EVERYTHING IS CHEAPER THAN PHILIPS JUNK... and also you did not mention whether or not this works with Smart TV apps like Netflix, Prime, Hulu and more.. THAT IS A DEAL BREAKER!
