As a security guy i loved this because its been a big area that people dont care about the security about these IoT Home things. this is great. you earn my sub bro. Defulats my goodness this looks so easy to do but trust me your right there many times I have been testing security for different organization and defualts are everywhere.

Be careful with the password managers as well. Linus Tech tips did all that you just said but still got hacked by taking the cookies that are stored by the password manager for each site.

got a pfsence , and i have create a separate subnet only for my smart divice and camera that is block from the rest of the network , and use one more subnet for guess wifi , that i turne off when i don t have any guess , and my computers and server are on one more subnet with a AP for my laptop and smart phone

Questions: 1. Can subnets only be created through managed switches (ect.) 2. You said only smart items are connected to 2.4. Is that possible with any dual band wifi router? I'm curently using my cable providers all in one modem/router and I want to upgrade my network infrastructure. I have wired electronics, wifi, security cams, and a NAS. It's past time to get my networking up to date. Just not sure where to start. That's why I'm watching these videos.

yes i think in some manege switches you can create differant subnets /vlan , and you could set you router with different names ssid and password for the 2 bands ,(office1 , office 2) to connect laptop and phone to 5ghz and rest on 2,4 , or get 2 AP one for lap phone , and run it a 5ghz , and the other at 2,4 @@Brian-bd5vb

Well I agree with you on that one. But I guess they have their place for checking in on elderly family members or those that need more assistance or observation
