What's been the cost of ownership? If you don't mind.

I can only give you a ball park figure, partly because the history has now gone to the new owner. In the ten years a new clutch for £800 and new brakelines throughout for perhaps £400. One service plus new sump and heater cable and door hinge £900. Treatment of rear side plastic window £140. Two sets of new tyres (over 46k miles). £5k in petrol - averaging around 48mpg. £125 or so in VED each year. £130 in insurance each year. All in except petrol, tax and insurance: I reckon that £300 would cover it. Depreciation: Bought for £3400, sold for £1900, mainly because I wasn't keeping it up cosmetically toward the end.

@@markporthouse thanks that's really kind of you to provide a detailed breakdown. What's going to scratch your itch now the car is gone?

My Citroen C6 (petrol 3.0) scratches an itch, but it isn't really the same one. Not sure that I'm going to get something low, sporty and rear wheel drive again, although a GT86 would be a candidate if I were.

Cost of ownership is not alot, insurance is cheap, it uses about 4.5L/100km. It uses 98 octane so premium fuel. Some parts can be expensive, like bodyparts, but engine parts not so expensive since it shares alot with the fortwo and mercedes. The biggest thing to look for is a leaking roof on these, both on soft and hardtop. Ive had mine for 10 months now and i love driving it, its a blast on twisty forrest mountain roads in norway where i live.
