#edc #edclifestyle #bushcraft #glock #streamlight Howdy and welcome back to the channel! My name is Mack and this is Marsh Foot Outdoors EDC & Gear. In today's video we are going to take a look at my "first line" Every Day Carry items. I have essentially been carrying the exact same variation of EDC for over the last 10 years. This is REAL EDC, actual items that I use and carry every single day and do not leave home without them. I'm not saying that this is the "perfect EDC" it's just been pretty much perfect for me for a long time. I hope you enjoy the video please share your favorite EDC items and what you have been carrying for a long time, and I hope you decide to subscribe to the channel and hit that thumbs up, and thanks if you already have. I'll see you on The Happy Hunting grounds!!

I carry a MK3 or MK4 pepper spray. law enforcement standard one as my EDC. I have used it in my old job on many occasions and it was the most useful weapon to tackle lesser violent situations like fist fights or to apprehend resists, unarmed subject/ subjects. Its super effective and carries least legal consequence.

Nice no nonsense loadout IMHO....I carry a very similar collection of different brands. As an example, my sharpening solution is a 600 grit credit card sized diamond plate with a leather strop on the back...it works well for knives as well as hawks etc. And instead of a second knife, I carry one of the mid sized Leathermans. Depending on environment, I carry either a G19 or a full size 1911....and try to avoid places that I can't carry either one.... Some of the guys on YT go nuts with $90 ink pens and $100 screw drivers.....finally understood what my grandfather meant by "more cents than sense", lol

Wilderness Tactical Instructors belt with stiffener. Gen 3 Glock 26 with Pearce XL +0 grip extenders & dead night sights in a crappy Safariland M27 IWB holster, it works. Glock 19 reload in mag holder. OC spray. Folder, looking for a small fixed blade. Surefire 6 PX Tactical single output with Thyrm Switchback. Surefire Backup dual output, anything other than a single output sucks. Gen 3 Glock 19 with dead night sights in car. Don't know if dead night sighs are worth replacing. I practice neck index flashlight technique & have become quite good at 1 hand shooting! Then I carry normal boring crap. Phone, keys, hankie, & Ridge wallet. I don't need, to carry stuff, to prepare for stuff, that most likely will never happen! I haven't owned a backpack since I got out of school! In 41 years of being an adult, I haven't come across any emergencies. I don't go stupid places with stupid people! 1 time I reported an accident, only to be told they got multiple calls. I like to Keep It Simple Stupid!

I love that you talked about your glasses as part of your EDC. Needing my glasses so critically was actually the reasoning behind my getting lasik so many years ago. I'm certainly not saying that's the right answer for everybody, But like you implied, everybody who really needs their glasses needs to have a plan for if they are lost. At the time I was jogging on country roads a lot and I always pictured being the victim of a hit and run, waking up on the side of a field at night and being completely unable to identify any landmarks.

Your setup looks almost identical outside of some mechanical tools that I carry for work. The flashlight I choose to carry is a Olight I5R (AA batter or rechargeable) with the reversible clip for your hat and that's a handsfree option for doing mechanical work. Brother I feel you on those glasses....I cant see shit without them lmao. I keep a knife sharper at work and home so I don't bother keeping one on me so it don't take up pocket space but I usually have a second blade I'm playing with and I have a cheapy on my keychain that's just small and handy. EARPODS WERE ESENTIAL FOR GETTING THROUGH THE CHRISTMAS MUSIC!!!!! I haven't used them since then but man did they get some use though December and I think I paid $15 for mine off amazon. My Kershaw Leek and steam light have disappeared 100 times but they always make their way home, I have lately started carrying the CJRB Pyrite and I love it but its gonna be hard to beat that Leek. Great practical video bud! Your the kind of guy makes this genre of videos enjoyable. Mossberg MC1 9mm but I like Glocks as well.

Nice and practical while having what you need and not being bare bones. Glad I found your channel! My EDC is a little similar but my glasses strap is always on the sunglasses to start. Leatherman Signal is my go to multi tool of choice. Olight Baldr 3 has been serving me well and I usually have another 1 or 2 flashlight options in a bag or in a truck, etc. Dont need to list out the rest, but a nice selection and tailored to what you do!

Very similar edc, plus and minus a couple things. I appreciate that you carry some paracord, and for mostly the same reasons. I find it a nice alternative sometimes to practice knots instead of doom scrolling. One of the things I’ve carried the longest is a bandana. Obviously it has many potential uses, but being honest what I use it for most is to keep sweat out of my eyes (when applicable). I’m sure I look a bit funny with a folded/rolled bandana on my forehead, but since I sweat a lot from my forehead, it’s personal function is irreplaceable. Great vid, I love the simplicity of your edc 👌🏻

Loved the simple honest video man. I live in Australia so can’t carry a firearm unfortunately but here’s my list: *Leatherman skeletool, *Brass zippo with their butane insert - looks cool and doesn’t run out of fuel every 3 days. I get about 2 weeks using it everyday. *Ledlenser P2R work flashlight. It’s affordable, tiny, rechargeable. Not the brightest or longest battery but I actually carry it everywhere and use it every day it’s worn af like yours haha *A cheap Casio watch *Burt’s bees beeswax lip balm - can’t go anywhere without that. *My glasses and sunglasses both prescription. Love the strap idea I’m considering adding that. *My Galen leather notebook holder - it’s holds field notes size notebooks and has 2 card slots for my ID and a credit card *My Pilot vanishing point fountain pen which clips onto the Galen notebook cover - yes it was a $200aud pen but I use it every damn day and love it beyond words. I also can’t go anywhere without my hat. Thanks again for the video man, I work away from home a lot and videos like yours help keep my brain engaged with cool stuff like edc. Cheers

Well, yeah. My Dad served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He would tell me stories when I was a kid about the air force and he would tell me all about the planes they had and there was one plane that he would talk about that he said they called tripple nickel niner. So am assuming the numbers to the plane were maybe 5559 or something. Anyhow, it has been a name that has always stuck with me all my life, thanks to my dad telling me all of those stories. So I have never heard of a Air Force Squadron called that, but I was under the understanding by my dad that it was just a plane that he knew about. So my KZbin handle is a knod to my dad. 😀@@marshfootoutdoors

Those pull through carbide sharpeners really are so horrible. I get that they are convenient but they remove so much material from your knife blade unnecessarily. Just for consideration... Worksharp makes a slightly smaller flat square shaped sharpener that has a diamond rod on one edge, a ceramic rod on the opposite edge, and a small bit holder for 3 bits in the middle (mine came with t4, t6, and t8 torx). Great little folding knife maintenance tool. I like it because with a little practice I can sharpen at whatever angle I like.
@marshfootoutdoors
@marshfootoutdoors 10 ай бұрын
In the video I specifically mention that I only use the ceramic, fine sharpening portion, to maintain the edge of knives that are already sharp, and that I do not use the carbide side. I can only assume ppl comment with out watching the whole video.
@Jakoshdw
@Jakoshdw 10 ай бұрын
@marshfootoutdoors - That first bit was me agreeing with you about the carbide. I re-worded my reply slightly for clarity when I realized what I typed sounded like that. But I guess I still didn't change my wording enough. (It's right before bedtime for me. So... my bad for sleepily replying.) I was sharing what I carry for anyone who wanted a smaller option that also includes a bit driver and bits... instead of the ferro rod. Just putting it out there as another option. One could even put in a small Philips or Flathead bit for Eyeglass maintenance at honestly the t4 isn't used as often. I like your edition of an Eyeglass strap... something I hadn't thought of.

Do yourself a big favor - get rid of that little sharpener and get something from Work Sharp, either a fixed angle system or one of the small field sharpening stones. Those little pull through sharpeners are awful for an edge. The other thing I would say is buy yourself a Spyderco knife. Hands down the best maker in their price range.

Worksharp MK2 is in the garage. This little sharpal does just fine for what I use it for. Maybe you didn’t watch the whole video but the only part I use is the fine, ceramic sharpener, it’s great for maintaining an already sharp knife. I never use the coarse carbide part.. Sorry, but I’m just not a big fan of Spyderco knives. I’ll take My Ontario RAT 1 in D2 all day, everyday, if we’re talkin bang for buck.

@@marshfootoutdoors I do like the rat models quite a bit, despite them being liner locks (I’m just not a fan, not entirely sure why). I’m more speaking from the perspective of price over time. I'll bet that 99% of the shit that people carry they don't really use any of it 99% of the time. 99% of that shit should go into the bag in their car instead of on their person. I mean WTF, who carries a knife sharpener on their person in the off chance that you've used your knife so much you need a fuckin knife sharpener? That's a bug out bag carry NOT an EDC! Even for the fire starter he says he really has it for. Who TF is lighting fires that much EVERY. DAY.??? EDC is EVERY DAY CARRY. Shit you use & need EVERY DAY.
