This woman and her home make me smile so big! I love how this apartment is elegant and calm yet also playful. The alam on the mantel is GORGEOUS. Loved her comment about dining room table ping pong during pandemic lockdown. The dishwasher conundrum cracked me up. MacGyvering with a Swiffer is priceless! I just saved this apartment tour in my "Favorite Apartment Therapy Videos" folder. It's now the 6th gem in that folder!

The dishwasher is so relatable. We added heavy tiles to our hallway, not considering the trap door. Now it’s like 30 lbs and you have to risk your life every time you go to the basement. I always picture it being my “Home Alone” boobytrap if there’s ever an intruder 😂

it's been a long time since i've seen an apartment that immediately made me feel jealous! i had such a strong reaction to that big dining room table. it's amazing what they've done to make a relatively small space feel like a large home with plenty of space for family and guests. i love that glass partition wall for the bedroom too.

I love your beautiful apartment. You have a lovely sense of style. As a chronic DIYer, I had two thoughts while listening to you speak of your lighting and dishwasher issues. If possible, can you take a router and shave the back of the panel down to lesson it's weight? I have used this trick when trying to lighten pieces of wood before to great success. Also, have you considered using uplighting on top of your cabinets to match the ones below? I think that would help with the darkness and illuminate the art work you have up there. Your mural is also outstanding. Enjoyed your tour. Thanks for sharing your home.

You can put the shower plastic liner in the washing machine and voila, brand new. I do this every 2 weeks and it removes unwanted stains. Absolutely no need to throw away.

I know you've painted the walls white to make the apartment light - trouble is, on dull days it looks quite cold. You'd be better with a slightly off-white colour (like a soft oatmeal) to make it look warm all year round (I have this problem myself). You could also screen off the office area. (And I'd literally give one of my kidneys to have a bedroom screened off like that!).

for the dishwasher, on the right side in the gap between the other cabinet, i'm imaging a walnut piece that when not in use is just vertical in the gap, and when you want to use it it can turn perpendicular, to stop the dishwasher from falling.
