Homemade baklava with walnuts and ready-made crusts, you will see my recipe in this video and all the secrets for a perfect baklava.
Ingredients:
For a large baklava
800 g of baklava crust (I use 2 packages of 400 g each)
500 g walnuts (must be raw)
120 g of butter
100 ml of oil (the amount of butter and oil should be approximately equal) If you want the baklava to be lean, you can only add oil.
For the syrup:
Equal parts water and sugar, I use:
3 cups of sugar
3 cups of water
1 small slice of lemon
1 tsp vanilla
The syrup is boiled for about 10 minutes and allowed to cool.
Bake the baklava first at 200 °C for about 20 minutes on the second level of the oven. Then I reduce to 180 °C, turn the pan on the reverse side to ensure even baking and put it on the lower level of the oven for another 25 minutes. In total, the baklava is baked for 45 minutes, depending on the oven, you can bake a little longer, until a nice golden crust.
