You have to plug in the mic and earphone simultaneously before your phone will see there's a mic connected. NB, not all Camera App can record from external mic. Most Android default cameras app won't do that.

@@SmartDepot android and iPhone. The android uses type C mouth . So I plugged in the mic splitter y to the mouth of the earpiece. But I came to your video and discovered that I must buy a type C adapter or iPhone adapter. If not I plugged in the splitter the earpiece post directly before. It wasn't displaying mic icon at the top. Only indicating earpiece plugged in

My phone only recods over the internal, i have the adapter and it regonizes it as headset with mic but it dont us it wen i record a video. I have a Uniherz Tank. In the Camera options i only can dissable oder enable the the mic but i cant choos an other audio input.

It was Poco F3 that was used for this video. I used one of BSG Gcam 8.0 that has option for recording via external mic. I also use Filmic pro sometimes. Now I record most with Camera

You have to make sure that there is a good battery in the shortgun mic else it won't work at all. Then you will need audio and mic splitter adapter if you are to use it on a Smartphone. Finally, there must be an earphone connected to the audio end of the splitter for the mic to work well.

There are times it can show certified especially when new because they injected playstore into it but after several playstore updates it will change. You can just download a SafetyNet check app and run it. There's more! Google Widevine certification for properly certified devices should be L1 but some Chinese OEMs phone with L3 still finds a way to get device is certified on Play store with locked bootloader. Nevertheless, some apps will require SafetyNet to pass and some very few apps may even require Widevine L1 certification to work.

BM 800 requires phantom power to work well so Smartphone won't power it enough. Use a shortgun mic with battery inside to get the best result or use a wired pin-up mic
