Well done Todd, I just picked one up yesterday and was checking on youtube to see videos of the install and there you are!! My YoLink devices are getting more and more as you stated in one of your videos. Keep them coming. RG

Great job Todd!!!! Picked up a yolink hub and motion sensor, (setting up at elderly mother in-laws house who refuses to get a visiting nurse or any help) watching your videos and recommendations.

If Yolink used LoRaWAN I’d be all over their stuff. Their weird hub and cloud service kinda kill an otherwise really promising product lineup.

Hi great video! Do you know if that USB indoor siren has volume and various alarm sound options? Also is the button in the center capable of being reprogrammed into and arm / disarm button ( to use more for a security system?

Thanks for the review. One question about the siren: Can it be pre-set to sound when triggered, then go quiet after X minutes, or will it sound until manually turned off? Thanks.
@twHomeShow
@twHomeShow Жыл бұрын
YES. Within the yolink app - after you add the siren, you can go to siren settings and set a timed duration for the siren.

The thing to know about these units is it detects CO at a level that will likely kill you before it alarms. You should get a low carbon monoxide detector if you want to protect yourself and family. These and all other carbon monoxide detectors you find in box stores don't protect you.

@@galactic25 Forensics Detectors is what I use. I did a huge amount of research on them before buying one. I'd certainly recommend it. The Blue one is what I have. It will detect at 25 PPM at 60 seconds rather than 70 PPM at 240 minutes. They also make ones that will alarm at 10 PPM if you want even better.

Do you have that set up to alert your phone or set up on a hub?
@realtyrocks1969
@realtyrocks1969 Жыл бұрын
@@galactic25 no. I haven't been able to find one that works that way. I wish Yolink would produce one but so far no dice. That being said if you're not at the house when it spikes you're not at risk.

I saw a video of a Nest listening device mounted on the alarm of something else being able to alert the phone. In that video they were using a driveway alert to listen for to send to the phone. It only works with a specific tone, not all tones work for the Nest listening device. You might use it for a scenario of monitoring someone else’s house and then alerting your phone. Maybe they are sleeping, but you get the alert on your phone and can call 911. There also might be a major leak in your house while you’re on vacation and the house is filled with a high concentration of CO2. You don’t want to walk into it when you get back home. There can be different scenarios.

Please check into why the Alarm does not work while just on battery. If the electricity goes out the alarm will not work, and it would be nice if this would be a backup feature.

The hub has to be plugged into a wall outlet in order that the smoke alarm works.

@@twHomeShow i want to have some indoor cameras facing out towards the window and i need the alexa hub to show that specific camera when a human is detected with alexa routines. I was thinking blink cameras would be the best to use due to the sale at the moment

@@joshuaally2076 "DOES BLINK WORK WITH ALEXA? Currently, all Blink cameras work with Amazon Alexa, including the Blink indoor and outdoor cameras. You can easily connect your device to Alexa for extra smart features. For example, Alexa allows you to enable the “Blink Camera Skills” to view your camera’s live feeds on your smartphone. You can also pull up your camera’s live video feeds on the Amazon Echo Show or Spot if you own one of these devices. Just say, “Alexa, show me my porch camera,” or any installed camera in your home, to bring up a live feed of the specific camera on your Echo." Hey Josh, It looks like BLINK does work with ALEXA with the Blink Skill installed on your Alexa, as ALL other cameras need. I don't have any Blink cameras, so I can't prove this. But it looks like it shouldn't be a problem. I would refer to my other videos that I released about my cameras on ALEXA and follow the same instructions on how to make them activate on your Alexa Show devices. The principles are the SAME, you just need to install the "BLINK Skill" on Alexa to make your Blink Cameras DISCOVERABLE on ALEXA. Best of Luck! -Todd
