I have Bose Flex, Marshall Emberton II and JBL Flip 6. All I can say is for outdoor, the Flip 6 seems to be the best choice because it's bassy and there is a strap to place it everywhere. The Bose Flex is also good for outdoor because of that massive bass (but it's not as good as Flip 6 about sound clarity and defnition). About Emberton II, it's, for me, definitely tuned for an indoor listening on a small room. They improved the bass (more controled than the first gen) and highs are a bit better now. Awesome battery life and this Stereophonic system is excellent because the front side plays left channel and the back side plays the right channel...then, it creates a great soundstage and instruments are well detailed compared a classical mono speaker. Great review guys, proper and very professional. Thanks !

I went with the Flex because It was literally 49% off on Amazon for Prime Day. That blew my mind so if people are saying this is comparable I might give it a shot just out of curiousity. I'm loving Soundcore stuff at the moment but only their bigger stuff is really comparable. The Boom 2 plus is ridiculously good across all frequencies with abit of EQ fiddling.

The Marshal looks good, has class and sounds great! The Bose Flex is very good, clear and with excellent base! The JBL Flip Six is number one only because of the EQ settings in the app! It will work well in any and all situations! My preference is the Bose Flex but all are good and cannot be kicked out of bed.

Got the 1st gen. One of the speakers started crackling after less than 4 months of use, mostly listened at half volume and i didn't even use it that often. Maybe i'm just unlucky, but not a good first impression with the brand. Loved everything else about it, except for the lack of bass at higher volumes, but then again i only used it on half so w/e.

Wow, just _wow!_ . . . . I was just browsing for a new portable bluetooth speaker, and you guys really wet my appetite re. the revue/test of the Marshal Emberton II, and I have to say this was a treat!!! (Luckily for me, I've got a store right across the street that carries this little giant!)😉 That aside, what I _really_ wanted to convey, is that whenever someone is doing a test (or revue) of something in this segment, we see [and hear] all manner of different genres of music being used - for demonstrating the ('approximate') result in sound quality and so on, which brings me to the crux of the matter: _Everybody_ have at some point listened to the group the Eagles' unique song/melody ''Hotel California'', and if you want to experience what *_ANY_* speaker (or speaker system) is capable of, well, THIS is what you should give it to chew on!!! Here you've got the high's and the low's and everything in between, all enabling the item (speaker) in question to give it's ABSOLUTE ALL!!! From *_this_* unique piece of composed music, it's a no-brainer to deduct what it will do for _your_ personal type of music! . . .🤟

well i absolutely love the looks...classic Marshall... the deal breaker for me is first its price...here in canada its 250$ plus tax. second is its lack of features like full eQ and Aux input. I got the soundcore motion + after watching reviews...and im totally satisfied with my $100 cad. purchase. it sounds amazing! Had the Marshall been more affordable like the $100 Soundcore...it would have been my first choice but mainly for its esthetics... i would strongly recommend the anker motion+ to anyone wanting bang for their buck and top quality sound and features! SO hopefully Marshall lowers their out of this world high price and stop relying on branding for inflating their price for nothing! i would never pay almost 3 times more because of a name...they are surely losing more sales than they could have...so marketing people...listen to the public and double your sales easily! As for the past 3-4 years running...soundcore motion + puts its competition to shame at any price...the sony. bose...jbl...all lose in every respect ...especially price! I will admit that if the emberton 2 would have been closer to the 150$ range...they would have gotten my vote hands down just because i love love love the look....as a musician i am very familiar with the marshall guitar amp quality...so if the same level of quality exists in the emberton well its a lifelong partnership for sure! Ill keep my fingers crossed for a decent sale price and i will surely get one!!!

I have a question. I bought the thing already for the record. I was kind of disappointed to find out that the volume is sort of tethered to the device. If you add volume via the speaker, the volume on your phone goes up too and vice versa. Maybe I don't understand how bluetooth actually works, but I was hoping for independent volume controls. I don't plan on returning the speaker or anything, but I was thinking I would keep my ringer/playback volume on the phone halfway and push the volume on the speaker a bit higher as a baseline. It feels like the max volume on the speaker is also the max volume on the phone. Do I have that right? It's plenty loud enough indoors with no competition, but maybe I wouldn't be so impressed around a campfire with people talking you know? Do I understand the volume limitations correctly? The manual isn't very helpful in 16 different languages or whatever it is. Am I missing some kind of setting on the speaker via the app? Sorry if I'm coming across as dunce here. Thanks in advance.

The Emberton II is an awful speaker when you factor in price and performance. At lower volumes it's not bad, but at higher volume it is an assault on your ears. The bass disappears and the treble is increased to ear bleeding levels.. Only a shill would give this speaker a recommendation.
