For an engineer I can verify Burn-in is very real on OLED and it's biggest achilles heel and can still happen up until at least 2023. It's the one problem that LG is working night and day to resolve, but it won't go away, they are also looking into new alternative technologies in a few years from now. Around 1 in 10 suffer burns after normal use. QD Oled is even worse for burn in due to the increased brightness level. This is painful.

Burn in is 100% inevitable and nothing can be done to prevent it ( right now that is, all we can do is prolong the issue but you will burn something in at some point ). Well done! Brave of you to go against most reviewers paid by manufacturers and keep making the point that Oled is flawed tech and burn in is still a thing that can quickly brick your expensive purchase. @@steadychaosproductions3376 not with the last LG G4 as I said. They have managed to increase color gamut to the levels of qd-oled. The brightness peak was already more or less the same with the G3. 1400 for Lg 1350 or so for Samsung if I recall correctly. With G4 and the new Samsung is same difference (negligible) but with higher values. Trust me, with the G4 there's no much difference between technologies. They included a hardware device to solve the overshoot problem which had been there since 2017. If you're comparing an actual qd-oled with previous generations of WOled (the G4 has just been released) then for sure it was a better choice. G4 is expensive at the moment though.

It's pretty wild how much my 85x90L deals with contrast, motion and upscaling as a full array LCD. It's better than a lot of the mini led brands out there overall. That said.. oh man I desire an OLED. Why do they have to be almost 3x more 🤦 If you're mostly streaming it's just not worth it yet imo. @plus1699 күн бұрын
Any non-OLED displays these days use LCD. But, as LCDs don't emit any light, they need a light source, and that's the purpose of LED. LED is just the source of light for LCD screens. It's not true at all that LCDs last only for 5 years, thats' the case for OLEDs.

What is the difference between oled and microLED ? and what is the organic part of an oled it does not make sense . What is nanocell ?
@matthew21823 ай бұрын
MicroLed uses a nonorganic emitter... all rocks basically. Oled by non-accurate comparative analogy would be like juicing a banana and spreading that juice between 2 layers of glass and exciting it with electricity to create light. Thats not how it works at all but organic implies a biodegradable emitter vs MicroLeds nonbiodegradable emitter.
@NeonmirrorblackАй бұрын
Why are we bothering with "Micro" LED when there aren't even any realistic Micro LED TVs yet? Micro LED is currently *the* best panel type to beat, but it's prohibitively expensive to bother with it right now, and you can't even get it in an actual TV form factor either. We've been talking about how Micro LED is going to be "the best thing ever" for almost a decade now, and we're still really not any closer to seeing it. Likely won't see the first real consumer TVs for another three years at least, and we won't see it priced comparably to OLED for another five after.
@anuragrajumeАй бұрын
It is always better to talk about everything available when you are making a video to inform people. I being a general consumer didnt even know there were more tv types other than the general led, qled and oled. So for me it was a well rounded understanding of all the types of TVs to look out for and what to stay away from.

There are so many technologies around, because the differences are marginal and often it is only a small compromise on a certain area. Modern Qled for example have worse black levels, but local dimming is taking care of that problem pretty much. You get better brightness, so the picture is more vibrant and especially light sources look very alive. With Qled you can get an incredible deal.
