What is EXTORTION | Extortion क्या होता है ? | IPC | With Punishments & EXAMPLES

In this video, I explained all sections of extortion which is mentioned under Indian Penal Code, 1860.

Section 383 - 387
Section 383 - Define
Whoever intentionally puts any person in fear of any injury to that person, or to any other, and thereby dishonestly induces the person so put in fear to deliver to any person any property, or valuable security or anything signed or sealed which may be converted into a valuable security, commits “extortion”.
Section 384 - Punishment
Whoever commits extortion shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to three years, or with fine, or with both.
Section 385 - Attempts
Whoever, in order to the committing of extortion, puts any person in fear, or attempts to put any person in fear, of any injury, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to two years, or with fine, or with both.
Section 386 - Extortion, Death or Grievous Hurt
Whoever commits extortion by putting any person in fear of death or of grievous hurt to that person or to any other, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to ten years, and shall also be liable to fine.
Section 387 - Attempts, Death or Grievous Hurt
Whoever in order to the committing of extortion, puts or attempts to put any person in fear of death or of grievous hurt to that person or to any other, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to seven years, and shall also be liable to fine.

@@vipinotp6465 but sec 383 only talks about dishonest inducement to deliver not actual delivery! ...I too was confused with the language🤷🏻‍♀️ otherwise like how could we differentiate the attempt or commission

@@justchillzz3774 383: (extortion) Eg: 'A' calls B and says I need 10 lakhs otherwise I will tell about your illegal relation with other girl to your wife. B is afraid and he gave 10 lakhs..here extortion is completed. 384: punishment for extortion Same example as above after giving 10 lakhs..'B' complaint to police and A is caught he will be imprisoned for 3 years. Sec 385: putting a person in fear of injury in order to commit extortion Eg: A calls B and says I need 10 lakhs otherwise I will kill you or make grevious hurt. Here B goes to police station and complaint. A is caught he will be punished for 2 yes imprisonment.here act is not completed its an attempt only.
