Nifty little projector. The "brains" is a 2D scanning MEMS mirror that raster-scans the lasers over the screen. The three lasers do the actual pulsing and modulation to form all the pixels. The 3 photo-diodes between the lasers and the beam combining prism are for feed-back control of laser brightness. I'd expect one surface of the optics to angle a beam onto them, or maybe a loose slip of glass the cover was holding in? Just using scattering would have lots of cross-talk between channels and make extra work for the feedback DSP. Finally, I'd expect at least half of the "top" motherboard is the MEMS and laser driver. Might even have a >100vdc power supply for the MEMS mirror.

I recently got one, and I've been playing about. The verdict is - it's fucking cool. I have an Oculus Quest, and to be able to stream the quest to the phone, and then the phone to the projector is truely a thing of beauty. The phone gets hot (not warm) when the projector has been on for a while, but the image and framerate is still stable. 5 hours of battery with the projector is a push - although probably achievable with airplane mode on, with the usual wifi, location and bluetooth off. The phone does not (at least I've found) that it does not have an application drawer, so all the apps are mangled to the phone's desktop screens, although these are removable. Happy to answer any questions you might have. love egg

I would take the projector over a folding phone. Instantly share KZbin and other videos with family and friend, anywhere.
@ryantoomey6115 жыл бұрын
Not really. This projector would only work in a really dark room. Limiting its usefulness.
@tallpaul94755 жыл бұрын
@@ryantoomey611 That's fine, it would be instant theater with the lights turned off.

I have just one doubt why dont you people start recording 18:9 or 19:9 aspect ratio...else you r the best
@SomeNot5 жыл бұрын
@Kartikeya Agarwal Because 18:9/19:9 looks awful on anything other than a flagship phone. IMO, 3:2 is the best aspect ratio but 16:9 and 16:10 still look good.
@TECHNDJ5 жыл бұрын
18:9 is standard.. Or else they should go to 21:9.. No shit creator will do 19:9 videos🤣

Deadass I'd love circular video that adapts to your screen, like the Snapchat glasses.

16:9 is the aspect ratio for a 1920:1080 monitor

As a laserist I clicked the second I saw it. I would love to get my hands on one of those tiny projectors myself :). thanks for doing this.

Projector. I have no interest in having a foldable smartphone.
@xXYannuschXx5 жыл бұрын
5:41 Oh, that is basically just a mirror that can swipe across two dimensions: it creates an image like a CRT would, by swiping the lasers line by line, while rapidly pulsing the laser diodes to create the pixels. Simple and ingenious!

Projector ftw. Don't need wireless charging ... I don't need folding ... Give me a headphone jack + IR blaster + Projector with 5000mah battery and an SD card slot.

Because like he often says "motherboard"… so if you are not new to this channel then it is most expected he'd say "motherboard" instead of the other word… just saying :)

Cool video! I use to take apart all my electronic toys when I was a kid to see how they worked. Then I would put them all back together. Today's electronics are too sophisticated to put things back in working order now usually.

YouMadBro ? People do click like before they watch the vid and with a channel the size of Zach’s it’s not hard to believe that 59 people had already clicked like.
@zachburke89065 жыл бұрын
Views take time to process, you dont click a video and its instantly a view. However a like, nearly as soon as its clicked is counted. The basics of how KZbin work is so simple I dont get how people have issues with this still

Those 3 small black chips are the screens, the light reflects onto those and to the glass which then goes to the smart focus stuff

no, defintely not, those are just light intensity sensors for the feedback loop of the laser led driver, this projector use mems micromirro in scanline fashion.

I think the small aluminium box inside the laser projector is actually the x/y deflection mirror to provide the image sweep. The light combiner and "prism" just present the beam to the deflection mirror front. Great to see, thanks muchly! :)
