Samsung Galaxy Z Flip Teardown! - Where is the Glass?!

CORRECTION!: There ARE more bristles along the inside edge of the frame. You can see them in this video. I was focused on the hinge and didn't see they added bristles elsewhere. Nice Catch guys.
Samsung's' new Galaxy Z Flip is here, and its survived my durability test for the most part. Now its time to take apart Samsungs latest folding smartphone and see if we can find any of the glass they promised us in the launch video. Samsung said they had invented a new revolutionary 'physics bending' ultra thin glass material. But it sure doesnt feel or act like glass form the top. Maybe there is glass inside? The only way to find out is with a Galaxy Z Flip Teardown.

So Samsung actually used ultra thin glass(30µm=30micro meters(how thin the layer is)) but covering a glass layer with protective film(PET film) which is plastic. Supposing glass layer exposing it might be strong from scratches but when impacted hard it breaks(maybe they wanted to prevent that) And to add additional info, usual type of glass we use in phones are 500µm(=500micro meters) or more thicker. Now compare 500µm to 30µm, it should be called ultra ultra ultra thin glass. And that’s why it could be flexible enough to fold. Funny thing is the size of our hair is 50µm(=50micro meters)

Why are you still complaining? Because of the plastic layer on top of utg? I'll explain why you can't achieve "putting utg on top of plastic layer" The LITERAL name gives it away "Ultra Thin Glass" Since it's so thin, hardness is comprimised and when you put a glass so thin that bends on the very top of the screen, it's more likely to break easily than putting the glass under a plastic layer.

Ted Ted you don’t get the point man. no one’s complaining here. in fact i wish Samsung to succeed in foldable phone. but the thing is, we’re not just there yet. here’s hoping Samsung will make some progress in future versions of these foldable smartphones ala RAZR. but in the mean time, let’s stick to were the ad of Samsung kinda misleads by saying it is the first foldable glass. just the idea of fingernails accidentally scratching the screen... yikes!
