I have the Osmo Mobile 3 and to get my phone in the Correct place Every Time, I've placed Adhesive Pin Stripe (normally used on cars) on the back of my phone along both sides of the mounting bracket. Much better than mounting a Big Magnet, keeping the back of my phone flat and easy to slide in and out of my pocket. When I want to attach the phone, I put the clip between those two lines! Simple!!!

Amazingly, the space between those two lines equals the height of a Business Card! So you could tape one of your business cards on the back of your phone exactly where the balanced point is.

Ok I don’t get the balance issue. I find it easy to balance mine, if you are using the same phone all the time, you know where to place the mount. And even with the magnetic mount it still has to be be placed in the middle of the phone to be balanced. It looks to me the advantage of the magnetic is the ease of removing, or replacing, the phone on the gimbal. That would be nice if you’re out shooting and want to remove the phone from the gimbal often. Otherwise I don’t see any real advantage to the magnetic mount.

For a lot of people its really hard. The regular balancing just takes some practice. But yea, you‘re right its not that difficult. The balancing part of the om4 however is just waay easier. It doesn‘t even matter where you mount your phone, it doesn‘t need to be perfectly centered

@@JulianEisenkirchner My only issue with not properly balancing the phone in the long term is wear on the motor. The better balanced, the less strain. I agree with David. the instructions are very basic and easy to understand. I put a dot on my case when I have it balanced so I only worry about the vertical balance. Just slight adjustments and it's balanced in seconds.

Tough question, I‘m afraid there is no proper way of doing that. Maybe use a mechanical stabilizer, like a steadycam

I think that the magnetic clamp is actually the very detriment to this newer OM4 because however fancy it may seem, it increases the risk of your phone getting knocked from the gimbal versus having your phone literally clamped on. BOTH YOU AND I KNOW THAT ITS DISTRACTING HAVING TO CONSTANTLY WORRY ABOUT GETTING THE PHONE KNOCKED WHEN YOURE HIKING OR DAELING WITH WATER. NO SIR.

There are actual applications for vertical video such as aforementioned, fb and ig. Vertical video, considering that most people use phones to browse certain social media platforms using their phones, could be more ideal than horizontal videos. I agree that vertical video is unideal in KZbin but you could do it if you'd really want to. After all, the content of the video is what matters most, not the way that it's filmed...

Balancing the Mobile 3 is a joke to be honest. I hold the boom part of the gimbal and adjust the vertical and horizontal by adjusting. Once balanced horizontally, I put a slight mark on the camera side of the case and then I just need to adjust the vertical side (slight adjustments and I'm good). If anyone says they cannot balance this, they either have not tried or are constantly over adjusting.
