I don't like to talk to my phone. To me it seems weird. Some people are fine with it, but not everyone. Google Now or Google Now On Tap, whatever it was called, provided useful information right at the glance. Google Assistant doesn't do that anymore. Every time I want to get that information, I have to request it, and because I don't like talking to a digital AI assistant, I have to type it. It doesn't provide useful cards of my daily updates anymore. To me this takes more time to get the information I need at the moment. Google Assistant can't even correctly provide answers to my requests. When I ask it for a birthday date of one of my contacts, it misunderstands it, as many of my contacts doesn't have English names. Just a couple of days ago I asked it to give me information about my next calendar event. Instead it provided me with Google search results. It also doesn't help that my native language is not English, and often it has problems understanding what I ask. I have nothing against Google assistant, for many people it may be very useful. But it is actually much quicker to have a quick look in the morning at the old style Google Now cards about my day - weather, calendar, birthdays, latest news etc. That functionality is not there anymore. Now I have to specifically request this information instead of just swiping left and having it right there on my screen.

@iamflartebartfarst5 жыл бұрын
Nate Yeah I thought the same thing. Humans used touch to operate tools before we used language to communicate. Touch is just as intuitive, if not more so, than language. That’s how three year olds with barely developed language skills can operate iPads and iPhones with ease. Voice will never replace touch. I think as long as screen are physical there's a barrier to how small things get. I will never get a watch if it doesn't have a projected screen or something similar, because working on a small screen or watching one is not worth the portability of it. That's why phones got smaller to a point, and then leveled around palm sized. Also I will never pay full price for and iPhone, use an assistant that continually listens to my conversations and sells my data and much less allow a device implanted into my brain. I would love to see that technology, but signing that much of your privacy over is not worth it.
@Prabash_Prabhu4 жыл бұрын
hmm, What does privacy mean to you? I feel it is a vague idea as is the idea of freedom . Data isn't as valuable as the majority of people make it out to be. @veronicavieyra43924 жыл бұрын
@@Prabash_Prabhu it's not so much that I delude myself into thinking that I can have true privacy, or that my data is so important. Privacy is not as much a concern as having all my content curated for me.
