Smartsheet demo using forms to record the time a job takes in hours and minutes

Hi there - not as yet. The ‘trick’ is adding a reference to the form from the job sheet so it then cross references using index / match. You do this by adding the job reference number from the cell to the form hyperlink. At some moment I’ll do a video on that. Drop me a line directly if there’s something on this you can’t work out

@@Smartsheetexpert I have watched this video no less than 10 times. I am unfortunately unable to replicate what goes on in the background to accomplish the population of 'Actual End Time'. Unless the 'Actual End Time' is going to a separate worksheet and then the formula in the 'Actual End Time' column in THIS worksheet is where the Index/Match formula is? I see actually that there is a column formula in all of the 'Actual . . . ' date & time columns. Would be great if you could show us what each of those column formulas are and how many other worksheets are supporting this one?

How did you get the time and date to be in different columns, and is there any more detail on how to create the form.

Hi Matt - the activity time log form? It's no different to any other form created in Smartsheet, but it is pre-populated with the JobRef number (I've done a separate video on that). For the time and date, I split them uses the RIGHT formula and take the last 5 digits

Hi there - have a look at this help page for detailed instructions. I use the ‘Created’ option, but ‘Modified’ also time-stamps so it depends which suits your need better. help.smartsheet.com/articles/1108408-auto-numbering-rows

Hi, How did you get the form to include the reference number for that row?

I create a formula for the hyperlink, then you can share that using a workflow. Formula along lines of ="[enter form hyperlink]?Ref=" + [your_reference_column]@row. You then need a column called Ref (or whatever you chose to call it (using the same term after the '?' and have that as a hidden field on your form. It will then be filled in automatically when the form is generated. I'll do a video on it some time -it's a brilliant functionality enabling you to have feedback forms linked to service requests etc - but works equally well in this scenario

There is no way to auto populate a time tracker in Smartsheet without an outside service. Time log is never explained, waste of time

It works very well for a variety of my clients and without outside help! I’m sorry you don’t seem to have got it to work 🤷🏻‍♂️
