Robertson's Belly Acres Pick one up if you’re in need! I’ve built my own, rigged different kinds here and there, but decided it was time to just get one that’ll last. Super simple. Made in USA. Appreciate it as always! Thanks for watching! 😊

Nice feeder and I may check into buying one. Personally, I wish companies would make the tops with "anti-roostability." I have waterers with flat topped screw on "lids" and invariably there's always one chicken who wants to roost on the handle! ha Perhaps, they could make a cone-shaped top or something?

Is the one in your videos the 26 pound or 66 pound holder? Have you been happy with the size? We only have 4 birds but I don't like to fill it often.

Alicia Ernest I have the 66. For the price difference it’s a no brainer. You’ll be thankful you did if you don’t like refilling. 👍🏻🙂

Great! We love ours still. The chickens too. When you order use the link in the description. 😊 It’s non-affiliate so I don’t earn anything but it shows Premier 1 that you found their feeder from our video. 👍🏻 Many thanks and your chickens will thank you as well!

Thank you! It’s a great product indeed! Feel free to share! We have noticed that crumble feed works best and that’s what our chickens prefer so it works out great!

I have a mixed flock of chickens and turkeys and we have a rat problem! Do you think turkeys could use this feeder, or maybe I should opt for a Grandpas Feeder?
@DossFarm4 жыл бұрын
My turkeys won’t use this feeder. They’re too tall. Definitely need something else.

would you recommend the small or large feeder for a flock of 6? Thank you for your video :)
@DossFarm4 жыл бұрын
You’re welcome. The smaller one would be fine but all 6 won’t be able to sit on it at the same time. That would be rare though. All 6 wont be able to sit on the larger one at the same time either though but 4 or 5 will vs 2 or 3. Really it comes down to how often do you want to refill it also.

We bought the smaller version of this feeder and are having problems with the door sticking and not opening when the chicken is on the treadle. We adjusted it to the lowest weight setting and it is still not working. Any suggestions?
@DossFarm4 жыл бұрын
We’ve had zero issues with the door and or tray activating when they stand on it. How big are your birds. Pullers won’t be big enough yet. You can also adjust the spring to activate the door for lighter birds. If that doesn’t work I’d email Premier. They’re great and I continue to work with them still.

How did the feeder hold up against rats? I’m looking for a tredel feeder that is actually rat proof. I’ve seen videos of mice in the Grandpa feeders, how have you found this one? Thanks

Worst feeder ever. Didn’t last a year. Springs broke. Pedal broke. Etc.

I have been using this feeder for the past week with our 3-month-old chickens. The feed doesn't fill up the trough section in the way that I thought it would, so though the feeder is full, they can't reach it. Any suggestions?
@DossFarm4 жыл бұрын
I’m assuming you’re using crumble correct? Pellets don’t slide as well. 3 month old is still a little young. Did you adjust the spring to match the weight? My trough doesn’t fill up as mush as I’d thought either. That’s by design. Keeps it dry. Try putting a scrap piece of wood on top of the step so they can stand on it to reach the food easier. I used a 2x12 scrap. Just make sure the door isn’t open if bad weather is coming in.
@rmahoney734 жыл бұрын
@@DossFarm Got it! Yes, I'm using crumble and adjusted the spring. I'll try the piece of wood to prop them up higher, and if that doesn't work, I'll just wait until they're a little bigger. Thanks!

I use lay pellets now, because too much crumble was wasted. So, you are using crumble and it isn’t getting wasted out the side and below the feeder? Nice video!
