As one of bowser's So Cal mains (before the buff's) and a huge fan of bowser since my childhood days. This video is outstanding! I've done some of these in bracket and also you can actually do a bit more things outside this video like instead of ledge trump to back air. You can actually ledge trump to down air if the opponent decides to jump up from the ledge. It's a early kill move but risky since it can leave you open after landing. Also, the aerial down air has a slow momentum speed after getting hit. it has the same frame for the meteor effect in the beginning use of down air and has a slightly longer hitboxes for the regular hit of it. It can be used for mind games and to land safely if timed correctly since it litteraly has no lag on the end frames of bowser slow momentum down air if timed correctly. Decided to share this to you guys.

It's almost impossible to pull off sadly, if your opponent DI outwards and airdodge it will likely never connect. And if it's true in a situation, the opponent can tech (even on the ledge with inwards DI) and punish you.

Top notch as usual, another fantastic Izaw guide in the books. Loved how you covered so much more than just his grab game, as there are so many more things to know about the character. If i were net picky, i would've enjoyed seeing a little more insights about abusing side-b as a lagless landing option and how to properly koopah for beginners (when/where to jump, double jump, etc, as well as explaining a little more why sometimes it's not guaranteed even at % within the range.) but i guess that gives me room to make a bowser video, who knows 😋

Yes, my friend. The Art of Bowser is here. I've always liked Bowser, so I love the fact that the person that I follow for learning characters has finally covered him. I always assumed Bowser relied on his grab, and I like the fact that he is the heaviest and Tough Guy ability allows him to run right over some people. *Overview and Pros* - As Izaw says, Bowser is a defensive grappler that employs the *Bait & Punish* gameplay. His status as the heaviest character allows bowser to survive at very high percents to abuse rage while still having good combos by virtue of his D-throw. All of his *tilts, Jab 1 & 2, and Uair* have *intangibility* when their hitboxes are active, making them un-contestable by most attacks that aren't properly spaced disjoints and they have really good knockback at mid-to-high percents, making them viable kill options. His *number one goal* is the aim for a *grab* (should be his pviot grab) to initiate D-throws into Nairs/Fairs/U-tilts/Usmash for big damage at low percents and using the D-throw to uair kill setup at higher percents. The *second goal* is breaking shields, which can lead to opposing characters dying as low as 10% *Flaws* - When Bowser is denied of his amazing ground game, i.e. off the stage, being juggled, and being caught on the ledge, he takes big damage to get back into the neutral and can be killed due to his powerful, yet, risky options that can be punished and baited out. *Bowser's neutral* = *Pivot grab, jab 1, jab 2, f-tilt, d-tilt, down throw to nair/fair/uair* for spacing, ground dominance, killing, and forcing aerial approaches that can be beat out with *Fair, U-tilt, Usmash, Uair, angled upward F-tilt, and Pivot Grab.* *Landing options* = *Down-B, Side-B, Neutral-B, and Dair.* *Ledgetraps* = *Any Angled F-tilt* (downward covers the ledge and 2-frames it), *D-tilt* (hits twice while killing and both successful hits almost break a healthy shield), *Jab 1* (covers most getup options and forces opponents to jump back to the ledge or deal with Bowser directly), *retreating Fairs* (knocks characters off-stage for potential gimps and kills), and *Dsmash* (for covering ledge rolls). *Off-stage Edgeguarding option*s = *Fairs & Bairs.* *OoS* = *Up-B (if opponents cannot be grabbed or are crossing Bowser up), Grab & jab 1 & 2.* *Combos* = D-throw into Nair/U-tilt/Fair and Usmash (if the opposing characters' weight is abusable) at lower percents. D-throw into Uair is a 50/50 kill setup at 60% - 100% with an airdodge being the only answer for many characters who are middleweights and up. Down-B, Bair, Usmash, and even Fsmash can can punish the airdodge option if the opposing character is a fast-faller.

if you're fast enough you can actually smash DI out of bowsers down b after the first hit, smash DI to away left or right and the second hit wont hit, this one boswer player kept using down b to try and kill me around 100 and I kept smash DI'ing out until around 130 or 140 and my opponent seems really flustered

I've found that Bowser's down throw is actually useful if your opponent is past the magic percentage for up throw combos, and you're not close enough to the ledge for back/forward throw to kill. By percent: up=6%, forward=12%, back=12%, down=12%. So don't stale your f/b throws, use back instead

NivotCan Pivot Bowser does well against shiek imo. her combos don't work very well at 0 with Boswer because of tough guy. Boswer can make her approach if played very defensively. she's a fast faller, and she's light. one grab might be a stock.

Down-throw is good for a quick 12%. It's viable when the opponent is at center-stage and they're past the point where up-throw stops comboing, but not yet to the point where forward-throw or back-throw start killing.
