Smash Bros Lawl MAD Character Moveset: King Koopa

It is a legend no one will forget, after 2 cancellations everyone thought King Koopa had left the Lawl-o-sphere. And then... his doomship attacked! King Koopa was back! With a kooptastic arsenal of weapons at his side, Koopa WONT be kicked out of his own kingdom this time. He got Koopas, and Troopas, the Goombas and the others, so if there's one thing for certain... HE'LL GET THOSE OPPONENTS!
A surprise! Yes, I know, if I had a nickel for everytime a funny anime girl got shafted by a cartoon version of a video game character boss I'd have two nickels, but this time Koopa's attack WAS planned for this time frame. Plus the big guy had been waiting for so long to get a set, don't you feel bad he never got his chance? But don't worry, unlike the other time KonaKona's not getting pushed back, as long as everything goes to plan.

Jesus christ Lawl MAD continues being peak with finally giving King Koopa the moveset he's rightfully deserved! While the lore continues being super fun and extremely well edited, the way he plays is masterful. The way he has his moves tie in to giving himself a massive advantage when his plans go well is so good. Fantastic video all around!

What a fantastic moveset. King Koopa is one of those characters that needed a moveset the most out of old YTP material, and this moveset really was a great representation. It's nice to see stuff from all three of the Mario Cartoons, and the mechanic regarding the magic wand and the enemies you can send out was a super fun mechanic that really encapsulates King Koopa's tendency of sending out his goons to do the dirty work while he just sits down and gets his feet licked. The reference to the infamous Rock TV episode plus the very memorable Final Smash were great additions too! I also have to bring up the fact that I love that more Lawls are including Animal Forms hehe The lore segments though, seeing the Hotel Mario Brothers fight the cartoon version of Bowser in a Mario & Luigi-like fashion, while brief, was super fun and just screams Lawl in my opinion!

At long last, the great Koopa King gets his grand moveset, and it's an amazing one at that! This perfectly represented everything about the cartoon version of King Bowser Koopa, from utilizing things from all three shows for the set to nailing key aspects of his personality like sending out minions to do some of his dirty work and having magic by his side as well. Even things that I didn’t expect to show up like the Koopa Doopa Raiser Upper and Rock TV are here, and they blend in perfectly with Koopa’s stage control playstyle. I do like how the wand's power and effects depending on what color the wand's end is, like the yellow one turning the opponent into their animal form and the blue one having freezing properties. The same goes with the wide assortment of minions Koopa can summon to attack, from the usual suspects like Goombas and Koopa Troopas to some more interesting choices like Sledge Bros. and Koopa Football Players that can be combined with the wand's effects. The FS was amazing too, with all of Koopa’s powers from one episode of the SMB3 cartoon combined to deliver a satsifying combination of attacks with a finishing blow to boot. Koopa’s grand stage and taunts are also all great, as well as all his victories (I didn’t expect that infamous moment from the first episode of the Super Show to make it in heh). Same goes with Hotel Mario's regular attacks shown during the KO sounds part. One other thing I absolutely loved was the lore scenes between Koopa and the Hotel Mario Bros., with Koopa not recognizing the two based on how the Mario Bros. in his universe look drastically different from them. Plus I also like how the outro is set up like a Mario and Luigi RPG battle complete with Partners in Time music (and the Bowser fight theme from that game to boot!), the consistent theming between the last two sets' lore segments is great in that regard. Plus the song choices were great, it's fitting that one of them happens to have his name in the title (the Paper Mario 64 final boss theme is amazing). By far, this is one of Lawl MAD's best sets to date, and I look forward for all its future videos!

God I am BEYOND happy right now 😭 This was such a long time coming, pretty much like 10 years ago back when I was developing my Lawl and had him on my roster... And now he's actually made it, this feels like such closure.. I'm so happy now, and was very happy to provide the assets I had made for him years ago!! The moveset was fantastic, Super Koopa is my favorite episode so I was very happy seeing it as the Final Smash, the gimmick behind the spawned enemies was handled perfectly too, I always loved the idea of using Magikoopa's gimmick to represent his wand and it paid off so well Overall, god I'm so happy now, seeing the stage finally part of a Lawl made me feel lotsa things, I can't wait to see what's next!!!! I can tell you picked from the best with this one when no joke, like 80% of the episodes used for refrence i own on a single comiplation DVD! while like many others, i saw this coming ever since the patch, but WOW!! the Mario cartoons are something that while cheesy at time, i have a spot in my heart for and love! im amazed at how you did the king of all koopas here! like, this is another case of a moveset i did expect stuff, but it was executed WAY differently than i would've thought! Neutral B is the best example of this, since while using magic and his wand ARE a common thing, there are just SO many options!! i mean all of this in the best way possible!..in a way, this might actually be THE BEST mixup i've ever seen in lawl! it's also fantastic how you got Kirbstar involved (man, he's really been kicking it with helping other with his old cast, ey?) cause DAAAAMMMMNN, i didn't realize how much i missed his original stage for King koopa, so to see it remastered here..puts a massive smile on my face!! what a stellar Halloween treat you gave us Peez-Dah, giving justice to somone who's needed for YEARS and has been pushed around too long, and WOOOOO!! count me hyped for Konata!! (also hehe, don't think i didn't notice the boots of a certain Kaptain during a segment X3)

Halloween has been a great day for Lawl this year. First we had Hush's moveset, then Mr. Waternews, and now we have one of the most awaited characters for Lawl, the King of the Koopas himself. Not gonna lie, King Koopa was someone who I felt was owed a move set for some time, and I was excited for him the moment I recognized his silloutte. And you managed to live up to the hype. First off, I like how Neutral and Side Specials were made to look simple at first glance, but actually have different options, which works well for someone with low combo potential. Up and Down B, while not expected, were implemented very well. And the Final was probably one of the best I've seen in a while. The lore sequences were also funny as well, and feels like a tribute to both Mario RPG's and YTP RPG's, and it makes sense why Loops didn't recognise these drastically different versions of his eternal nemisis's. Overall another fantastic moveset for someone I wanted since ARL and Kirb-Star canceled their spin offs and I eagerly await for future movesets and the winner of the poll suggestions.

Wasn't what I was expecting for the next moveset, but his was yet another fine Halloween present! Like many, I was expecting Koopa to be one of the secret characters. And this was a very fun moveset. I particularly liked the Down B, although I admit I was expecting more out of it. The Final Smash was definitely the best part though. But my favourite part of the moveset was the intro explaining how the Mario and Luigi in MAD are different versions to the ones Koopa is used to, hence why he doesn't recognise them. That was a nice touch. But they're still the Mario Brothers, and plumbing's their game!

Well it looks like one of Bisons villains took the victory! Once I saw King Koopas silhouette and figured it out, I was already hyped on how you would excute him and his cheesy evil demeanor and plans, and I think you did so wonderfully! King Koopas Bait and Punish + Mix-up playstyle is reflected through his specials and moves exponentially well. Neutral Special is a really diverse and fun looking projectile to pressure enemies with,, (and there’s animal forms for this Lawl too? Awesome!) Side Special is a great way to set enemies up for another hit and control the stage with many versatile options from a safe distance, Up Special is a useful form of recovery and way to set opponents up, just like how you can with Down Special, which also looks very unique and fun to use. But the highlight for me has gotta be that awesome Final Smash that can overwhelm the competition real quick. The moveset kept going strong with Hotel Mario’s great attacks, (and fitting victim) King Koopas villainous and fitting taunts and victories, and the very intriguing lore/outro that has me wondering who of many could be next! I’m excited for who’s next and the 2nd empty slot results rolling around. Great Job and Good luck! (Somebody has to make Super Show Mario though 🙏🏿)

Alright, now that I've gotten off of my @$$ I can actually comment on the moveset, overall, it's good, the moves themselves are well animated, and they seem to represent this version of Koopa. (I wouldn't know I haven't watched the show) Although I there are two things I have to say. 1, I think that the side B and up B on the ground could use a bit of improvement, not in terms of how they function, it's just that they seem a bit too slow, I feel specials like probably them shouldn't take as long or longer than Snake's Nikita. (I'm also not a fan of RNG, but that may just be the actual serious designer in me) 2, The audio balancing seems a bit off in some areas. (Like the taunt showcase, and the end scene where Mario and Luigi are fighting him) And 3, the Final Smash does look a bit OP, I'm not the best at balancing but that's just what I think, these all may just be me problems, but still, I do feel like pointing them out.
