The F-Zero medley is one arrangement I personally enjoy. It reminds me of those wacky Japanese action shows I notice from afar. And that vibe I get just meshes well with the overtop futuristic designs the F-Zero cast has. Bonus points for also including an arrangement of Fire Field.

I love that the Miis this time will be viable characters and usable, what made them kind of outfitting in Wii U and 3DS was that literally they where too customizable, hight, weight, affecting speed, power, jumps and knockback, also the moves people wouldn't strictly use the sets, they would mix them up as they pleased and also add the extra buffs, now it's just pic a Mii, pick a set and go! It's like now we really have 9 new characters to try out. 😍

+RayMinishi I know Itoi is done...but it's not Itoi's IP anymore. Nintendo could do anything they want with the IP, they just seem to respect Itoi's wishes at this time. He says he finds no desire to continue or make a sequel, that doesn't rule out remakes. Besides, there are plenty of developers who leave companies and their baby, the series they've put the most work into is still continuing on without them. Metal Gear, Sonic (although that one is a bit tricky), Kirby, etc. I don't even think I'd want a Mother 4, but simply a remake with updated graphics, music, and presentation wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility for Nintendo. Do I think it'll happen, probably not, but a man can dream.

Nicely done, good sirs. I am happy that Miis are back. I played as them somewhat rarely in Smash 4. My favorite is the Brawler variation. Princess Peach's Castle looks so gorgeous. Similar to Kongo Falls, it was a stage that showed off the graphical power of the GCN back in the day, and looks _much_ better on the Switch. R.O.B. is one of my favorite fighters. He got a decent buff in power between Brawl and Smash 4, and it's nice to see further improvements to the robotic operating buddy. Captain Falcon is definitely a classic fighter at this point. F-Zero has never really appealed to me, but I love how Falcon is the perfect mix of speed and power. The zoom effects for his signature Falcon Punch makes him even cooler. While I play Smash Bros. primarily against the CPU, I have many fond memories playing with my older brother and sister and some friends. As Ash said, Smash truly is special when gathering the right group of people. It's really a grand celebration of Nintendo history in one goofy, cartoonish fighting game package.

I honestly miss Customs and wish they could return. Not knowing what specials my opponent had always made things exciting for me. It left me shaking in my boots wondering if my opponent playing DK had his OP Storm Punch or a different neutral B. Other people just don’t understand how much potential customs had. Instead, they were just mad because everyone used DK and Sheik with occasional Villager, Mii Brawler (who is busted AF), and Wii Fit Trainer. Not like today’s meta is any better since everyone uses Bayo and Cloud with occasional Fox, ZSS, and Marth. I also love the Mii Fighters, and I’m glad they’ve returned. They’re far too underrated.

I think there was a missed opportunity with the mii fighters to pull a Wii Fit Trainer and actually make a character that references core games that utilised the miis. They could have had moves based on music, spotpass, and of course, sports. Only real difference is that you’d be picking how the character looks. I dunno, I feel like the miis are an important part of Nintendo’s history. They practically the face and identity of Nintendo for a generation or two. Mii fighters now just don’t really represent that.

I'm kind of disappointed that custom moves might not be returning, but honestly, the way they were implemented in the last game were weak to begin with, not to mention if there's ONE character where custom moves actually makes sense, it's the customization Miis, so I'm glad to hear they still have SOME level of that, and that it's exclusive to them. Also, I would have complained if Mii Fighters were cut. They get an unfairly bad rep, in my opinion.

I was thinking since you can use the amiibo from smash 4, which can be assigned custom moves, then custom moves could be returning. On the other hand, amiibo used in smash ultimate may have to clear their moveset data as characters such as link have had their specials changed.

Custom special moves were one of my favorite features about Smash 4, but i don't mind them being removed if only because it gives me a reason to come back to smash 4. I still play Smash Run every now and then. it's seriously my favorite part of that whole package. Also, Mii fighter, in all three of it's incarnations were at the bottom of the Smash 4 tier list.

My personal thought on custom moves is keeping them as possible unlockable or DLC loadouts. I.e, Twilight Princess Link has all movement and weight and normal/smash components of Link. However, his specials are now based on TP. Gale boomerang, classic bombs, and instead of firing two arrows and picking those up, his bow is special because he can fire bomb arrows after taking out a bomb. Up special could be similar to before but is now maybe is stronger bur less mobile. This way, we can get hyped over quasi newish characters, celebrate character history, and minimize resources required to make a 'new character'. Maybe just hold a trigger when selecting a character to swap loadout, and current loadout is listed by your char select section. Dedicated Sunshine or galaxy mario, completely different moves for kirby to show copies, adding iron tail or thunder wave on pikachu, more creative sonic play, a more magic ganondorf, etc.

I kind of expected custom moves not to return in later installments when Mewtwo came out without them. I know I'm in the minority, but I actually really liked some of the custom specials. Most of them were garbage, I have no trouble admitting that, and I certainly understand why they're not coming back. But there were a few good ones. Charizard's Dragon Rush was a fantastic multi-hit without the self-damaging effect of Flare Blitz. Ike's Aether Drive gave him the ability to recover diagonally, something he normally doesn't have. Close Combat was also very nice for building up damage on an opponent. Ganondorf's Dark Fists had a lot more KO power than the Dark Dive, in addition to super armor and better horizontal reach. Marth/Lucina's Dashing Assault gave them better horizontal recovery, and Crescent Slash gave them diagonal recovery. I also love Mii Fighters just because of the ridiculous characters you can make with them. I'm so glad that they're more humanlike in size now. I hope all the outfits will return as well, including the DLC ones! My dream matchup is Ridley vs. the Black Knight...Samus's worst enemy against Ike's worst enemy. The level of badass in that match would be off the charts.

Custom moves were an interesting concept in itself but I think it was unecessary and more confusing than useful in a game like Smash. It was also difficult to collect each bonus and the fact that you can't use them online gave me the impression that I create fake and useless characters. Mii fighters are one of this things which you don't care but you know it needs to be in the game.

I love that they missed that the F-Zero Medley was composed by the Daytona guy in particular, hence the F-ZEROOOOOOOOOOOOOOO at the start and the whole style of the remix.

The F-Zero song is based on the F-Zero anime, "F-Zero Falcon Denetsu", which I believe the lyrics are the lyrics of the anime's opening in english.

If the closed space in Great Plateau Tower was bigger and the tower was a little higher, I think they could keep the same feel but with a little more breathing room. The F-Zero Medley also reminds me of Initial D

If a story mode is ever released in this game, I hope the characters for each team are with each other from their week on the Smash Bros. website (example, R.O.B, Captain Falcon, and Mii fighters from the 7th week) for starting teams.

People who say: “How would this character play out?” Just look at Captain Falcon he just drives in his games But honestly I would love an F-Zero beat’em up game where you have to catch Criminals, he is a Bounty Hunter after all. He was also going to be the face of Nintendo at one point instead of Mario.

Captain Falcon isn't actually the best example. He got in because his *body shape* - before Smash was Smash, it was intended to be an entirely-new IP. And the moveset they eventually gave Captain Falcon was the one they programmed to test the game's mechanics, belonging to the new IP's titular character, the Dragon King. Captain Falcon just had the same body shape as the Dragon King, so when the game became an all-star crossover, he was given the origin moveset. Fox, from what I understand, is a better example of your point. He was never on foot prior to his inclusion in Smash 64, so that moveset is entirely new for him.

Mei-Li Wong Dragon King was what Super Smash Bros started out as. Generic-looking macho characters, with the launching mechanic we know and love. Sakurai's decision to make it a Nintendo crossover game was the greatest of brainwaves.

The one last hope custom moves has is based on the "sets" concept of the mii fighters. The other choice could be something like, and this is what comes first to mind, the newest Mortal Kombat. Where there are 3 fighting styles for each character. Only in smash's case, sets of special moves. This sorta resolves the complication of having OP combinations of moves and not knowing what an opponent has move wise. That is if they also tweaked the custom moves that were just op or trash on their own. Or, they could just save the custom moves idea and revisit it in the next smash with a smaller roster and more time to focus on each individual moveset. I might just prefer the latter thought.

I think everyone is misinterpreting what it says. It's worded a little awkwardly, but it specifically says "sets of 3 Specials". Take note that in Smash Bros, there are _4_ Special Moves in total for each character, so it can't be saying that you're choosing from presets of 3 different Specials. In addition, the placement of the 3 doesn't suggest that there are 3 different presets, but 3 different specials. Overall I think it's plainly obvious what it's trying to communicate; choose from one Special out of a set of 3 potential Specials, for all 4 Special Moves, just like in Smash 4.
