I also have to mention peach is a playable character in three games where she can match up with Mario; Even if you don't count Super Mario Bros. 2 (which reskinned a different game, but DID give her the floating power in proper canon) she's still a party member in Super Mario RPG and Super Paper Mario, where she can kick ass on a level similar to the other characters. Yes, if you don't let her use magic she's weaker than mario, but still a fighter you can beat the game with.

It should be assumed that Roy has reached the true ending since his main weapon in Smash is and always has been the Binding Blade which doesn't get unlocked until close to the final chapter. Toon link does have proper sword training. There's a martial arts master on his island that teaches him, plus years of experience as after defeating ganondorf, he defeated demon king maladus in spirit tracks AND bellum in phantom hourglass, all of which are world ending threats. He has all sorts of trinkets and gadgets and fights with his brain and determination, which arguably makes him a better fighter than someone just powerful. Plus he has the power ring.

Okay here we go...... ToonLink got training from an old sword master at the beginning of the game and beat knights and other armed opponents in single combat as well as Ganondorf himself in a sword fight. Mewtwo does not have the skills and strengths of every Pokémon ever, he is a clone of the Adam and Eve of Pokémon. I Don't think Adam could beat Mike Tyson just because he is his 10,000x great grandaddy. we are talking about fighting skill here. he spent most of his life in a tube while other Pokémon actually train their bodies and battle techniques. F tier. Roy literally went to war and has a bunch of fighting experience because of it, arguably more than Samus, as she mainly relies on her power suit to blast opponents rather than showing any real fighting skill, though she is tough and does have nerves of steel. Sora was trained by Phil and Merlin and was able to beat Hercules in a 1v1, as well as most of the Final fantasy characters featured in the game including Sephiroth (twice), he also beat Dragons, Hades and all the titans(which were capable of defeating every god in Olympus). WHY IN THE FUCK is he in C and Samus in S? He was capable of blocking Sephiroth's slashes(which were so fast you could not see them) Bullets at point blank range and lasers coming at him from every angle. Bruh! Starfox was shown getting his ass beat by normal ass grunt enemies in Starfox adventure, his fighting capabilities outside of an Rwing are little to none outside of smash. Ness has fought just as many aliens as Samus and the root of all evil in the universe and mainly uses a baseball bat to attack, his PSI abilities are mostly used for healing in game and his friend Paula and Poo do way more attacking with PSI. we are not only doing hand to hand skill are we? cause otherwise everyone but the shoto's are F tier. Cloud actually never made it into Soldier, that was Zack. He is very skilled with a big ass sword though and did go 1v1 against Sephiroth in advent children so I would say he is still pretty high. Simon canonically fought through Dracula's entire castle as well as the vampire himself with nothing but a whip and his huge ass muscles, bro is busted. (also pit can't fly and requires help to do so in game) Byleth was not only raised to be a boss mercenary by the head of the knights of the church since he was very young thus fighting countless battles, but is also a teacher in many weapon fighting styles and a master tactician, and only gained the rewind power after already proving himself as such. please do more research for your next video. sorry for the wall of corrections. Zero suit was a thing but she could not fight at all. most of the enemies she fights would melt her or rip her apart without her armor whereas Roy fought all of his battles in an actual war with nothing but a sword and light amounts of armor.

The reason she’s not dangerous without her power suit is because her opponents aren’t vulnerable to her weaponry without her suit. Meaning we would not count Roy's fire on his sword but also would not count Samus's lasers, weather resistance and shields or the ability to crawl up walls and fly. Meaning she would be left with dodging the big monsters and the ability to strafe. Everything other than that would be something that is based on not her physical skill, but her tech doing the work for her.

And even still, she has been through way more combat than Roy and she basically works alone. To suggest that she’s not more experienced at combat than he is, is frankly ridiculous. Roy can regularly miss and fail to dodge. Besides the rules of this video argued Samus was S tier, and they considered the vast arsenal of the inklings to be indicative of skill, I don’t necessarily agree with their reasoning, but they’re not ruling out skill with a gun.

The distinction between skill and superpowers seems really fuzzy here. Genetic enhancement isn't really a matter of skill, so making that basically the criterion for S tier is a bit weird, though I can see it with Snake, Sephiroth, and Mewtwo, as all three are intelligent and skilled regardless (though Sephoroth has a caveat I'll mention later). Sonic is weird, because his speed and reflexes could be considered a special power or pure physical ability, but neither really translate to a matter of skill; he's absolutely skilled in the other ways mentioned, but not more than an A tier without his speed. It feels weird to give Sonic that and then not give Donkey Kong anything for his physical ability, considering just his species would mean any human without superpowers would lose automatically, and he's stronger and smarter than an average representative of his species by an impressive margin. Cloud and Sephiroth are kinda weird being counted as genetic modification when Mako, a key part of their transformation, is clearly magic. Sephiroth is still crazy talented enough to remain in S tier, though Cloud could definitely be demoted considering he was only particularly impressive after getting superpowers (vague to avoid spoilers). Byleth meanwhile is basically genetically modified themselves, being a child of a homunculus and a guy who appears middle aged despite being centuries old due to blood doping, and having a god's heart transplant, which is actually surprisingly similar to Sephiroth's Jenova situation. Even ignoring that, it's pretty heavily implied if not outright stated that the beginning of the game is the first time Byleth ever manipulates time, so even if you want to credit their tactical ability to that, their reputation as a merciless (and undefeated) single combatant precedes that and qualifies them for A tier if not S at minimum. The ranking of the children is again weird if you are talking purely skill and not physical ability; I don't know much Earthbound lore, but Ness is pretty badass (while Lucas is less so) from my understanding, and Toon Link has actually undergone training from a swordmaster even if you count from the beginning of the game, and is even more impressive if you consider in-game achievement. Young Link fits the description given in the video much better. Simon also seems to have been shafted a bit here. He's pretty comparable to Kazuya or Ken in being trained by his family to fight, just in a different manner. His reliance on special weapons is because only special weapons are capable of killing things like vampires, not as crutches for combat; the difference they make is basically enabling him to harm them, not instantly killing them or empowering him somehow. Considering the fact that he fights beings that are naturally stronger than humans, he's arguably far more impressive than martial artists who are fighting essentially equals.

Just a quick side note, Byleth can actually learn many more combat skills, such as hand-to-hand combat (e.g. using knuckles as a weapon choice), and although they technically have a goddess living inside of them, the Crest of Flames flows within their blood, which is like the strongest crest there is. So, Byleth should be S-tier.

11:46 that’s kinda unfair for Sora, that Sephiroth fight in KH1 is brutal I did not work by butt off to hear “yeah… Sora strong cuz Disney made it easy…”. Even if we don’t count the KH1 Sephiroth fight, using just KH1, Sora learns advanced magic skills extremely quickly, outclassing Donald who was an advanced Royal Mage pretty early in the story KH1. He learns the power to STOP TIME on a whim. Even at half his full strength as a Heartless, he was able to give Ansem and Xemnas a damn good run for their money too. KH1 Sora deserves at THE VERY LEAST a good B tier. And if we go any game beyond KH1, Sora is an insane beast, just watch the compilation of KH2 reaction commands.

And again, the rest of the series just has Sora be a menace. Even in the games where it's still KH1-DESIGN Sora, he learns some pretty mean Melee skills.

@@danielsmith8577 KH1 ironically has a whole section late-game where Sora loses the Keyblade, and at the end when you get to the boss the guy goes on a good rant on how he doesn’t need the Keyblade to kick ass. Then the Keyblade magically returns to him immediately after (for lore reason I don’t want to have to type rn). It’s hard to use that area for reference though because the Wood Sword he has on hand physically cannot harm any enemies outside of magic due to how the Heartless work. In theory though, Sora can definitely pack a punch with any weapon he finds, again KH2 has numerous instances where he’s shown doing cool stuff that’d easily win the argument but I’m staying strictly KH1 here for Nick’s sake.
