I think people underestimate how big of a win this is for acola. He has never won a P tier event before this despite coming so close. Winning this event almost dominantly whilst his competition for number 1 did not make top 32 pretty much cements his 1st place ranking for a while. Also Dabuz will win a major this year, it is almost certainly going to happen.

I doubt it sadly, because Dabuz is very likely to run into Acola, Leo, Spargo, Tweek, Light, Gluto or Sonix in grand finals of a major or before. And he HEAVILY struggles against all of them. His best chances in the bunch are against Tweek and Gluto with Sonix being 3rd but I would still not favor Dabuz against them sadly, except maybe if he has 2 sets to work with. I am a Rosa player and I believe in Dabuz and Rosalina, but he will still need bracket luck to finally get a major win And maybe this will age poorly and Dabuz just pops off at Throne but that’s me wishfully thinking

If he won this tournament it would've been the best or second best losers run after Leo's Frostbite 2020 for sure, and most importantly he was cooking hard so I wanted to see how he does vs acola. I'm also happy that he 3-0'd MoDzai who's a really good Pacman, hope he can get the runback on Tea soon.

Hello, Proofblock! Once again, I bring some more information about how the Spanish (and European) boys fared at the event. -Sisqui had his worst performance, not just in America, but in a major in general, by a long shot. He got 49th last year losing to Regalo and Tilde, but this years lackluster run cemented Smash Con as his cursed tournament. Losing to Jules in a bo3 can be understandable. Playing against Steve, even if it has a Quickplay-ish style, with so little time to adapt, has the potential to go wrong and snowball fast. I watched the set on Etoiles stream and felt bad for Sisqui, cause it felt like Jules didnt really beat him, but outjanked him. The defeat against Dany is what REALLY should shock everyone. Sisqui is really good in the Wolf MU, has a dominant record against both Oryon and Pepo (probably the two best European representatives of the character), sometimes actually steamrolling them, so this upset comes as a huge surprise for us. If he won, he would have had to face Sonix, but given that he had just lost to Icymist right before and that Samus is one of the actual troublesome characters for Sonic, he could have gotten it. But if you lose to Dany and dont even get to Sonix, thats rough, chief. -Andres getting the upset on a top 10 player like Shuton with a reverse 3-0 not only feels like something out of a movie, but its also the end of a story for Andres. Last season, the only Spaniard he lost to (aside from Sisqui) was Ragda, an Aegis main. Hes good, but hes nowhere near Shutons caliber. And watching the Fariñas boy implement new things into his playstyle to overcome an adversary like Shuton truly felt cathartic. Aaaand then he lost to Zomba (probably pulled out the Ken due to previous experience against Europes best ROB, Vidad, but Ryu or Terry would have probably been the play there, to either have a non SDIable Shoryuken or more mixups on the recovery) and then unfortunately falled against Ddee, who was on a tear. -Shoutouts to Tarik and Raflow for defending Europes integrity and honor. -Raflow, after losing to Rivers, got on a HUUUGE losers run (including a runback against Rivers!) and, switching perfectly between Palu and his secondary Samus, managed to take names like Wizzy and Ly on his way to 13th, being the only European on top 16 at the event, and with an 11-2 set count. -And what to say about Tarik... His set against Mute, for me, was the set of the tournament and it wasnt even close. He had a really promising 17th place at BOBC5, and doubled down with a 25th at Smash Con. Watch out for die Maschine, his Greninja is truly becoming a true menace. -And a final shoutout to the Europeans who overperformed: 1. Crepe Salee, the French Steve main (ex Wario main), who got 65th with seed 97 losing to Syrup AND SPARG0 ON LOSERS 2. Mad Ice King (Netherlands Robin, 257th with seed 518) 3. C.K (British Link, 385th with seed 823) 4. Blackrenown (Norwegian Sonic, 193rd with seed 612)

Only 2 of the top 10 seeds made top 8. That is why Acola is #1. Doesn't matter how many times Spargo beats Acola, Acola has the consistency that no other top 5-10 player has. Also s/o to Miya. Steve's consistency. Acola is great but I'm not gonna sugar coat it he's super carried by Steve and if anyone disagrees they are completely delusional. If you look at all the matches the other players have to work 100x harder while Acola does basic Steve combos and the sets are close. He also just presses b to camp. The margin for error for Steve is completely lower than anyone else which is why Acola stays ahead. He plays Aegis or any other character and would be in trouble and that's the truth. Super Smash Corrin Con. 3 Corrin in top 32 make it the most rep character in top 32. Also despite Neo place higher in SSC. SHADIC actually beat Neo 5-0 in exhibition match. So I think the conversation for the best Corrin might still be up there!!!

@@cringewyrm L4st said this during exhibition match. If the exhibition match end in a close fight. Then yeah you can say it doesn't really matter. However this is a clean 5-0 sweep. And not to mention SHADIC mostly only loses a stock in every round. And this where the discussion about the best "rep" can come into a discussion. Did you consider the best rep best on result only? Or are you going into account skill level/character knowledge as well? Neo based on result clearly shown to be a better rep. But if we judge skill and character knowledge SHADIC might actually be better than Neo.

@riqua27
@riqua27 Жыл бұрын
@@randomnobody660 I already said in my previous comment but let just elaborate even further. If you're the kind of person who believes that the best rep should be based solely on the result. Good for you I'm not going to fault you for that. Just to note that not everyone thinks like that. Some people including me see that maybe other things like character knowledge and skill are an important aspect as well. One thing that you can evaluate between why I still believe SHADIC might still be the best Corrin is that he did some corrin tech that no other corrin main could replicate. No Neo or MKLeo ever do fair to pin like SHADIC did. So if you don't know. In low percent if you hit fair you can connect to pin if you time it correctly. Till this day no Corrin main actually ever replicates that the way SHADIC did.

I feel when there are Big tournaments, the top players heavily depend on brackets to move on. So it is not lile they fully squashed the competition when they are in top 8. Acola was clearly blessed by the bracket and the fact Sparg0 was out. Sparg0 has been a hard stop for a while to Acola.
