CORRECTIONS FROM THE VIDEO 1. Acola has played aegis vs doramigi and won, and even though we usually bops him that’s a tough matchup to win so credit there 2. Spargo uses aegis way more then I have him credit for just brain farted super hard, so I would have eliminated him third or fourth instead of fifth, but it doesn’t change my final two (bloom and raflow at kingcon, yaura at delta and zomba at genesis shout outs to C.D.Gqp-456 for the list of players I forgot)

I would say both Shu and Riddles are players that Co main. Spargo however has a clear main and multiple secondaries that can hang at the top level. Def would have spargo at #1

By that definition I would agree and give it to spargo/acola, but even though riddles and shuton co main their respective characters, they still have a clear favourite to the point where I would still have them as secondaries (I think the only person to ever truly co main was protobanham)

@@ProofBlockI think that if our basis is Banham then yeah nobody else has a co-main that I can think of. But I’d definitely say just based on current active players, Riddles and Shuton fit the co-main box. Tweek did at some point when he evenly practiced Diddy and Seph and would switch between them in bracket. I’d say actually all the Kazuya players except Wildz are co-mains. Tea and Alice both play a fair amount of both characters in bracket

Ehhh I’d put sparg0 at first, his ageis has been able to best a lot of top players this year like Bloom, Raflow, and yaura, and his corrin is still very solid being able to take a win over riddles. There’s not enough info about the Roy to make a judgement on it. I also thought that ageis would be Shutons secondary, it seems like he still uses olimar way more than ageis

I think spargo first is reasonable, I definitely understated the value he has been getting from aegis, and while Roy and Corrin don’t come out as much they are still very good, but I would still with shuton considering he could prolly be top ten with either character (you could argue same with spargo though) also shuton has been using olimar more in 2024 for sure but his predominant character is still the aegis

Didn't he get second? He couldn't have beaten Miya, Marss, or Ken with Min Min. Rosa does much better than Min Min in those 3 matchups. Acola maybe currently he could win, but back then he would not be able to beat Acola with Min Min.

Dabuz has basically dropped minmin, I wouldn't count a character he doesn't play against him. His secondary olimar is clearly good enough to wipe a lot of other players. Also Shuton's secondary is as good as every other top 10 player's main

Ya I almost didn’t consider it but he did play her vs onin at goml so I felt it was recent enough, but his olimar is genuinely incredible, borderline top 5 without minmin in consideration

I had no faith in Shuton to win SuperNova. I feel he is like Maister when Maister was at his best. Amazing but has too many hard roadblocks he can't get thru.

You're wrong about Seph cuz KEN won a major with him back in 2022 pretty much going all solo Seph. KEN plays Sonic too but he went solo Sephiroth for the entirety of top 8.

I think the logic used for dabuz is a little unfair. If he could only play his secondaries in tournament he could just not play min min if it wasn’t playing well.

Agree that Shuton should be #1 but I feel that Riddles characters are a bit too similiar and dont really cover each other. when riddles gets destroyed with one character and switches he often still loses after.

I think tweek, Leo and zackray would have a good shot because of the matchup spread against weaker characters, but I still think shuton or riddles would be more likely to take it

The thing about Steve/Sonic is that you're most likely playing for time-out and one way or another Sonic is just better in those situations. Otherwise I would agree it's even or even slightly in Steve's favour.

@@TwinHacarieh, like I said, Acola is up on Ken, I get that Ken isn’t Sonix but he’s also a Major winner so that has to count for something. Also Sonix doesn’t think it’s a super winning matchup, he feels if anyone wins it’s Sonic but slightly. He just knows how to abuse Acola’s weakness. Rockman on Twitter said that was Acola’s opinion (so I could be wrong about that) but on Sonix KZbin he has his Sonic matchup chart where he discusses the Sonic/Steve matchup AND playing Acola specifically. I trust that both of these players understand the matchup better than we do.
