I really need to come see you. You’re passionate about it and to be frank, my neurologist isn’t. I’m 23 and was diagnosed when I was 15. I deal with many things from ms and you seem to be speaking to me directly to me with most of your videos. Keep up the good work and I’ll be reaching out!

I quit exercising around 2 years after the pandemic. And it's hard for me now because I can't do what I used to do and I compare myself to how I was. I will try to quit that and exercise more. Thank

The first subject I've seen posted so far where a piece of advice is 100% out of my personal comfort....I used to love sleeping...a great night sleep and waking up rejuvenated was golden....since I've been diagnosed with Primary Progressive MS...sleeping is my mortal enemy....my body just doesn't do well spending a long time in any one position....sitting, standing, laying down.....so sleeping for x amount of hours...leads to me waking up stiff and sore. It takes at least an hour or two...to regain "unstiff" mobility again. If there was a way for me to avoid sleep altogether...I would....but we all know that's not an option either....I just really miss that "rejuvenated" feeling....I haven't had anything even close in the last 5 years no matter the amount of time sleeping.

Modafinil is a game-changer! I love it. I won't tell you my long story since I was diagnosed in 98 and my journey with provigil but, it was originally prescribed to pilots on reconnaissance missions because it would keep them awake without the side effects of shaking or feeling crazy.

What sugars to remove? Remove fructose? Remove honey? How about other simple carbs? Pasta? Most of the breads I make have some sugar in them. A pizza crust having sugar is not surprising.

Yes, in the beginning of last year, when I got dxed, it was very hard to exercise. My legs were so heavy, like lead, then. Immediately I ate healthy produce and no processed foods or added sugar. Last year, before all this, I weighed 181 lbs. I began to lose a lot of weight and within 6 months I lost 30-40lbs! I now weigh 130lbs. I have much more energy now than I did before. I do sometimes struggle with insomnia symptoms, my dad had that and my husband, that usually means I have had too much exercise and not enough output for that energy.

Ok now, I’m going to go a month and never skip a day of exercise. I sleep good quite often. I exercise quite a bit but I let myself miss days sometimes (The MS Gym got me out of my wheelchair people) and I wonder if my bad nights completely correlate to when I don’t exercise. I should see you within the month and I will report my findings.

i have yet to feel energized after exercising. I cannot handle being overheated one bit. it knocks me on my butt for two days. I can stretch, do light weights and walk. But not too much as all my symptoms flare up. Nothing even close like I used to (30 mile bike rides, 2 hr exercise classes etc) . I am always going 1 step forward 2 steps back. the fatigue is relentless. Maybe I do need some kind of stimulant to get over this hump. I take a wide variety of helpful vitamins/supplements (dr approved), use a Cpap for sleep, avoid most sugar and most processed foods, and eat alot of green veg. I am overweight ( age, stress lack of enough activity, genetics) . It is a friggin frustrating battle. Am going to bed now.

Before MS I ran 100 mile ultramarathons and even set some course records. Now I cant run so I lift. Must go first thing in the morning at like 6am for energy reasons but it really gives me a lot of energy I would not have otherwise for the rest of the day. Also I am definitely more jacked now than a bunch of zero sclerosis losers. Some dude was like "big dog, ur lookin huge, what do you do to look like that?" and I told them I just eat cake and sit around, no idea how I got so strong, its just luck and genetics I guess. Not tryin to have people thinkin this is obtainable because if you are stronger and better looking than everyone around you it is super good for ur mental health.

The problem with sleep is the whorable side effects of several medications, including insomnia, bladder urgency, duration--- 3hrs is insufficient but taking more than prescribed in 24hr and when you're up it is like a light switch and you're up get some caffeine and Adderall and you have an hr to exercise.

Lyrica and Baclofin can make you tired but they can also cause blured vision . I lift light weights for 20 min 3 times per week and go walking for one mile before , I feel I can do more but it brings on migraines if I do . Sugar is the worst , also starches make me feel bad so I limit them also .

Not the ocrevus. The steroids you take with it. It's not the massive dose we take for an MS attack but it's still a pretty substantial dose and it used to get me for 3-4 weeks after infusion - 2 weeks of "high" with racing heartbeat followed by 2 weeks of "low" then gradually getting back to "normal" again. Plus, although ocrevus acts really quickly (that's why you need to take steroids) this is the effect on the blood outside the brain & spinal cord - the "peripheral" blood. White blood cells hang out in organs a lot and you will have a ton of mature B cells floating around inside the brain - and it can take a couple of years before they die off. In the meantime they are busy "protecting" you - in reality they're triggering new neurodegeneration because they're misprogrammed and need to be removed. So - there can still be some ongoing minor disease activity left and this is why the stuff Dr Boster suggests is so important. Also don't underestimate the power of adequate hydration. The neurons try to rebuild the broken pathways but it's difficult and takes a LOT of water so it's very important to keep hydrated while you have MS (which means for the foreseeable future and probably a bit beyond).

I don’t believe sugar is the devil. I think everything in moderation. When I was first diagnosed I went on an extreme diet (the doctor Whals one) and it messed up my relationship with food. I am a afraid saying no sugar leads to extreme diets and I don’t think that’s good either. All foods fit we just have to prioritize healthy ones. Love you Dr Boster. Just my two cents.

I have been on Amantadine for the past 20yrs for my fatigue (and absolute game changer) I have the tablets 20mls and liquid form so I can take as up to 2 times a day or as little as possible....my neuro said I could have fits if I stopped altogether! I find if I have been able to lower it for a few days it works better when I do take it. I have an alarm that goes off every day at 2pm that I take the Amantadine the very latest so it doesn't keep me awake all night though! I still have to have a nap every day I can .... maybe I will cut it out altogether a few days a week ....I am almost 64yrs old so surely I would be having a nap every day anyways!!?

Too many of the drugs I “have to” take have fatigue and dizziness listed as possible side effects, and they are my worst daily issues. Gabapentin reduces my pain, but it’s at the cost of my energy. I’m in the process of titrating down because of that. As my energy increases so does the pain I have daily, but the dizziness has lessened. I may have to choose which symptoms I can tolerate daily.
