In today's video we review the unit sent to me by arcade1up: a machine i was really excited for: Marvel Pinball. But is this machine worth its insane cost or should I destroy it with a hammer? You decide.

I honestly feel like this could be an idea good enough to warrant its own series. Someone intelligent, objectively reviewing products, is a great service in and of itself, plus you get the fun and the theatre of the occasional smash. Love it boogie, looking forward to seeing more!

The only thing keeping me from buying this unit is the price. The Arcade1Up's used to be priced decently, now they have gotten too expensive. It might be because of the current price of components, but I hope that the price for the new Arcade1up products become more responsible in the future. What are some good retro game consoles that you can but without breaking the bank? I wonder if you can buy these boards just as a computer game?

I would consider getting either a hand held or tv based emulator. There are some android boxes that come pre loaded with tons of games via emulation. You can also mod some arcade 1ups to host those types of machines!

I'm a sucker for a good pinball machine 6 in 1 sounds pretty good and 700$ isn't that bad for a digital one but still woof. Mods seem cool if zen is actually working with the community though would wait to see how far they go with it I doubt they would let people play licensed boards for free but you never know.

This series is perfect. Its the perfect mixed of Boogie, reviews and Francis. All of your fan base can actually enjoy this. You could even get more of a "boogie tales" in this format while playing the things you are reviewing. In this case, stories of bar events when you played pin ball or as a youth. You would be able to mix the mental illness awareness and updates with an actual real life experience review + Francis when the thing is a smash!

Always a fan, Boogie. Been a fan since 2016. Joined the bandwagon a little late but hey I got there. Your last couple of videos were really touching and I’m proud of you for sending them out. Nice video Boogie! Glad that you're innovating. The Francis character doesn't hit the mark anymore (the suspension of disbelief is harder now that you're older as Francis is a child), but you have a lot of insightful and interesting commentary about video games (and anything else that you want to set your mind on). Hope for the best.

I think most of us would have liked to have seen a Smash as the opening of a new potential series, just to see the old style Francis Destroy content. But if the machine is good and enjoyable there is no reason to destroy it. Just make sure you get some content in here that you know will be smash worthy so we're not all waiting for content that doesn't come because everything given for review is good enough not to justify destroying

You can definitely buy better digital pinball machines and with those you can download an unlimited amount of boards and honestly I don’t think it’s worth. Go all out or don’t do at all. I don’t recommend destroying it though because as a minimum wage worker that’s worth around 107 hours of minimum wage work with included taxes and all that.

These machines are great for first timers that want to see if a pinball will actually get usage in their home. With prices of new machines being $7k and higher, this is a good entry point into the hobby.

While I do see the appeal of getting the arcade1up pinballs, I believe the best way to go about getting virtual pinball is to build one if you have the extra money. This lets you make the machine to whatever form factor you want (you can make tiny ones, or you can do like me and accidentally make one larger than a real machine lol) and you will understand your software way more. You can run zen pinball on any virtual pinball machine along with some more traditional pinball emulation like Visual Pinball X and Future Pinball (although most tables you will be running are in a tiny bit of a grey area, but the table creators do try to keep it as legal as possible by only replicating older titles.). That being said, you will have to put more work into it, and probably a bit more money. The nice thing about homemade virtual pinballs is that you can upgrade it even after you build it (especially if you opt for life-size, a lot of the inside of the cabinet is hollow except for a few wires and a pc in the back corner). It really just matters how much work you want to put into building one.

It sounds like a fun idea for a series, BUT will you ever receive another review sample from the same company if you've ended up smashing one of their products in the past? I cannot see any company wanting to see a product of theirs smashed on video as a way of criticising the product and then agreeing to send a second sample.

If you like pinball, you would LOVE this place by my house. Down the street, there's a vintage arcade/bar. They have like 100 pinball games as well as tons of videogames and other stuff. They also hold pinball tournaments.
