How to be good with Roy: 1. Shove your sword down their throat 2. Don't stop shoving your sword down their throat 3. If you get hit throw out any attack then proceed with the first two steps 4. Bait out a roll, jump, air dodge, or laggy attack and then f-smash 5. Offstage bair and fair is safer than dair 95% of the time

Yea, its basically the same with Mac. You either be the sweaty aggressive type, or you do the better bait and punish. Both playstyles work well with both characters, but you need to be mindful of when to take a breather, and when to keep up the pace. And being able to read the tech chase situations are key for nearly every character, but crucial for those characters who have a more aggressive gameplay or more of a punish type of a thing

Personally, I do love how Roy slowly evolved over the course of time when he first started off in Melee. He used to be the weakest sword fighter on the roster, to one of the most fast and aggressive close range sword fighters ever, and was even given an echo fighter of his own in the form of Chrom. I did consider maining Roy for Ultimate, but he is a bit on the secondary side since I do know how to play him, but using him too much will leave me vulnerable for my opponents to hit me back. 3 years since I saw Art of Roy for Smash 4, he was a bit on the defensive and strategic side, but now Ultimate Roy is better in terms of aerials and percent damage. Keep it up, Izaw!!! I do hope your next "Art of" video will be better than the last. Blazing Lion forever!!!

I have only been playing Smash for a few months. My room mates are all competitive players who have played since early versions of the game. This video has helped my Roy get so sick. I can actually win matches against my strongest friend occasionally. And against everybody else in the crew? Well, they refuse to fight my Roy because it is too embarrassing for them when I rock them after having only played the game for such a short time. It is actually a little bit frustrating because I get 2 stocked using any other character against them. However, they often get 2 stocked vs my Roy. I keep coming back to this video every week to pick up something new or to relearn something I had a little bit off. My movement with Roy is getting crisp. My shield pressure and aerial game are getting really good. Those back airs are still extremely difficult for me. Luckily every other move Roy does seems to work for kill options but I am working to get better instant backairs for better (and earlier) kill confirms in the future. I am also working very hard on his combo game. Slowly, but surely, my combos are getting stronger and stronger thanks to the massive wealth of ideas found in this video. I know you're busy but if you ever made a Roy combo video I would eat that up. My edge game needs a little bit of work too, but it is getting there slowly. I have been going out more and more for neutral b, reverse side b, and those satisfying spikes with d-air or up-b stage spikes. I seriously can't thank you enough for all the help this video has provided on my very, very brief path of Smash. I will be back again next week to brush up on old ideas, fix the bad habits, and learn something I missed (there is just so much info to get down). You have created a monster in Minnesota.
