After watching this video, I implore any Kirby players to try him in doubles. Compared to other characters, Kirby's doubles applications are practically infinite. Between partner pairings being broken with some characters, (Snake, Minmin, Yink) two great doubles throws in up throw (transporting your opponent to the top of the screen for specific partner jank) and down throw, (long grab invulnerability for your partner to run up and hit them while you're stomping on them; DK giant punch, megawatt, diamond fsmash, etc.) not to mention Kirby being able to save teammates with a fast fall up air offstage and being able to make it back. He's small, can camp in doubles, can shield dash his ass off, has good ping ponging like ftilt and bair, funny/footstool combos with dtilt, and if full hop auto canceled, dair can get the enemy back to the ground for a free grab and your partner can take advantage with the dthrow strat I mentioned from earlier. I could literally go on for hours about Kirby in doubles, so I'll stop there. Thank you for coming to my Ted talk.

With Marcina neutral b you can do Kirby glide! Dash -> neutral b -> hold direction you were dashing in. It’ll give Kirby a little boost on the ground as a mixup tool! You can find video of it explaining it better but it’s a little cool trick I use sometimes.

Mii Brawler's shot put can also be rolled off the edge of platforms to hit people beneath them! If you do this, Brawler has enough time to catch up to the shotput and attack with their projectile like Mario/Pikachu. I assume Kirby is fast enough to do this too.

Something funny I realized? Kirby reverses the pokemon weaknesses with their hats. Squirtle hat is best vs Ivysaur because of the specific range Ivysaur wants to recover, allowing you to easily push him away and gimp. Ivysaur hat is best vs Charizard due to his large weight and size, making it harder for him to escape bullet seed combos. Charizard hat is best vs Squirtle again because of recovery- Squirtle wants to angle low for his recovery, which the flame can catch. Kirby can also follow Squirtle offstage easily and use the flame to catch/steal his double jump and force a bad Up-B.

Additional notes for Duck Hunt’s can: - Up-tilt will reverse the can the next time you press B - Back air will do the same - Use dash attack or F-smash at close range to give the can significant distance (good for pressuring opponents when they’re recovering!) - Throw out can while recovering to prevent punishes. Between each jump, briefly reset the analogue stick to neutral and press B, then continue moving forward with your recovery. (It’s tricky, but it’s very effective!)

5:27 If I remember correctly, this is only correct if the warlock punch started AND hit the opponent while fully in the air. So if you land before it hits, you won't get the aerial bonus damage.

Correct. Unlike Falcon Punch where starting in the air gives the knockback bonus Warlock Punch has to connect while airborne

There’s another way to use King K. Tools cannon to kill at high damage. Standing on the edge, facing in, jump and press B, then use the joystick to direct yourself off the stage. You have to let go of directional inputs as soon as you suck up the opponent, or you will change direction. They will be shot out at the bottom of the stage, and bounce downward. Kills very often.

When ever I use krool copy ability I usually jumb and fire because only the belly reflects, 2nd I mostly use it for the suction properties. Kirby gets a lot more drift than krool does making it effective offstage to catch him as he's recovering. One stage I stage just out of range of most of his grounded attack and drift in to suck him up. If you run with the cannon ball it usually discourages aierals. Plus he's shot out so low that it forces a tech situation, usually results in sucking them up again

Ivysaur copy is also a good move to land on the pokemon with, as it has constant hit boxes that sometimes shield poke.

I wonder if there are any doubles shenanigans you can do with Kirby and the copy ability of his teammate that would actually be viable. For example, Kirby/Joker seems pretty good because Gun is actually quite useful for Kirby and Joker is good anyways.

If you have team attack on and copy Ness or Lucas ability, you can heal them with PK Flash and PK Freeze!

I'm a prominent Kirby doubles player and some partners can just make Kirby absolutely perfect. Young Link arrows fix Kirbys neutral, Minmin arm used with Minmin can control space unbelievably well with Kirbys double jumps and partnering with heavies make shooting them as a star very effective because the inhale spit is stronger based on how heavy the character being spit is. Fun fact: if you spit out any heavy on someone's shield point blank, you're +7 or greater on shield. Spitting Bowser makes you +11 when fresh which means you can literally get a forward smash for free cause there is no option in the game faster than frame 3. Kirby in doubles has practically endless possibilities compared to other characters

You can do a cool thing with K rool, where you shoot upwards, and if you can grab K rool while directly under the cannonball, do an up throw and K rool will slam into the cannonball, which i think can kill

You forgot about Hero Kirby's Forward Throw to fully charged neutral special, racks up the damage like crazy. Flame Nova also has flexible startlag that starts out really low while covering both sides and launching well, so it's a solid tool to put your opponent in an unfavourable position. thx for this

As a Ness and Lucas main, using PK Flash or Freeze against them is giving them an opportunity to heal like 20% So don't do that
