This Kirby guide goes over the main strengths, the misconceptions, and a trick or combo you can use with each character's copy ability in order for you to take Kirby to the next level in competitive smash. Add these to your next Kirby montage! This is the longest video I've ever created. I hope you enjoy!
Everything in this video was recorded during version 7.0.0 of SSBU. Peach-Daisy & Simon-Richter are the only two echoes that share a trick since there were no neutral special differences between them. Share with your friends even if they don't play Kirby, they might learn something about their neutral special too.

Well when you inhale Kirby you get access to Kirby’s versatile inhale ability, and it also repositions your opponent after copying so there’s always a way to capitalize off of that

Kirby's is the most broken, since he can gain virtually any ability from him if it's a free for all / team battle.

Fun fact: Mach tornado is the only copy ability that directly improves Kirby's recovery. If you mash b, it will go higher than final cutter. Also, Joker's down guns were nerfed, but Kirby's were not.

I feel like Kirby's Copy Abilities are underrated. They can give you access to some good tools to help do things like edge guard or limit your opponent's options. Kirby has hidden potential that I can definitely see.

I don't think Kirby's copy abilities are underrated at all. Everyone knows that Kirby gets good options with most people's neutral special.. everyone knows that Monado Arts are insane for him.. and so on lol. However, actually getting someone else's ability is pretty difficult and punishable.

This video's absolutely fantastic! Thank you. Another neat trick Kirby can do with Ptooie is to immediately bounce it off the stage after releasing ledge (hit down > rotate one notch forward > release left stick > hit special) canceling most of it's endlag. This lets us cover low recoveries with Ptooie while still being actionable so we can react to anything else. It also combos into bair at low percent.

This is such a well done video and really shows how strong Kirby's copy abilities are. I love seeing Kirby's when watching tournaments but they never use neutral B but it's such a good move as you've shown here. The fact Kirby already has powerful combos and can integrate the moves he takes from his opponent into them is just such a fun thing to do.

just a small reminder that charging robin's thunder also gives a small boost if you use it at the peak of a jump so when you combine it with kirby's large number of jumps it can make his recovery even better both horizontally and vertically (as long as you remember to not start charging on the last jump) :^)

Great showcase of copy ability tricks, you delivered way more than one per character! People really underestimate what Kirby can do in some match ups. Dedede's inhale has a trick where if you hold an input after starting inhale and let the opponent mash out, you can catch them with a fast move because Dedede has a small frame advantage in this situation. I wonder if Kirby can do this with utilt and usmash? Its cheesy, but something. Also if you find yourself in a Gordo Volley ball match, keep in mind inhale spit has very low endlag, so shielding directly after can save you in close quarter reflecting.

really great video! Some other tips are: ptooie has a lot of hitstun and can combo well + can be comboed out of uptilt and some Aerials iirc gun is good against joker's recovery and can lead into Nair for kills or just another edfeguard attempt

A cool trick you can do with Samus's charge shot, is a dair, and immediately use the Shot. Depending on the side, you'll have to adjust the shot- but a dair to a charge almost always will work. This probably works with other characters who have charge shots, as well.
