Smash Ultimate Zelda Edge Cancel Guide

Part 2: • Smash Ultimate Zelda -...
Quick Notes:
- A lot of the Smash 4 angles are still there.
- On Final Destination stages, apart from all the positions that still exist from Smash 4, you can still do a cancel off the respawn platform.
- Dream Land 64's main stage (regular version) is still slanted to the center, making vertical aerial inputs follow the slant downwards. Horizontal results in "aerial reappearance". Battlefield and FD versions are fine.
- Farore's Wind interacts with slants in the same way it did in Smash 4.
- Shortened Farore's Wind inputs are easier to do, I think the new stick sensitivity option has something to do with this.
- I misspelled the word 'successful' like two times, I should have reviewed all the text again ;_;

Didnt really think I would love this character so much until this game. Zelda and Palutena are like my go-to's now. I'm not too good at the game either, as I should work on my fundamentals more. But, just seeing stuff like this makes me want to get better at the game so I can do do these advanced techniques. How do I do it if I play with one joycon since my brother uses the other one. My B is not my jump it’s my circle pad that’s my jump (the teleport cancel I wanna know how) it’s te one at 5:06

@@silhouetteshadow126 I'm not familiar with playing on one Joycon but If I'm understanding correctly, your stick is set to tap jump and while it's possible to do it with a button configuration like that, it will require very fast inputs and precision. You'd have to do it gently and quick so as to not trigger a jump.

I tried to do this with Palutena but it's so hard to do. The last clips of TP Zelda and LTTP Zelda was adorable. Really like this! Zelda no longer be bottom 5 on a smash tier list!

Lin Bin It’s Easier with Palutena in my opinion. It might be cause I play her more than Zelda but also I believe after Palutena lands she does like a hop and as long as you slide past an edge as she does so it should work

Indeed it is MUCH easier with Palutena, the reason is she slides off much farther than Zelda after spawning on the ground

Imo Zelda never was bottom tier I played Zelda and she was my Main and i won every single online battle and i hated it when People said that she was a Bad Charakter either they didn't play her or because she was too heavy and too slowly

Its not really a requirement. Most of tournament players that use Zelda pretty much never use this. Still, its an awesome tech that could definetely take your gameplay to another level. Consider it as the last and hardest thing to master from Zelda

Graestra Wouldn’t exactly require this to be a master. Although having it would be quite useful, definitely a nice mix up and surprise tool to use. Although Zelda has other options that rely less on convenient, situational positioning that you should attempt to master before hand. On top of making you a bit more unpredictable it also makes you more stylish

@@mylji2276 this moves kill at around 70 percent if you start the move close to an opponent and just go upward, it's also a nice option to punish Aurasphere and things like this if your opponent know that you might reflect it

Seeing the different teleport animations at the end of the vid between Smash 4 Zelda and Ultimate Zelda really made me appreciate the redesign they did for her. IMO her new teleports are so much prettier and more detailed. 🥰

It's true that Ultimate's is more detailed but Smash 4 Zelda's looks "smaller" in this video because of the keying done to remove the background.

I can't do them as consistent as the video may make one think, yet. I made this video early so that maybe people can see the possibilities and lab them. I made the one for Smash 4 almost two years after the game came out which was too late and if doing them consistently there is possible, then it can be done here too.

I do go when I can and I've been going since Smash Wii U. I tend to get nervous at times but I'm improving on that slowly. Also, the fact that edge cancels in Smash 4 were almost twice as easy made it easier to do in bracket and I don't know how to feel for Ultimate yet as there is other stuff to practice that is of more priority than some of these cancels.
