Smash Up is one of those few games that has great art AND great graphic design. Those Transformers cards were amazing.

All that the boxes from the expansion's really do is take up space wherever you store them; I have 2 Big Geeky Boxes to contain everything + all the custom expansion out there as well as some homemade (Heroes of Might and Magic). You don't need the other boxes.

I've watched Smash Up get played on TableTop and researched the expansions. Only until the Munchkin version was on sale did I grab a copy of it for $13. Now, I see this one come out, I really want to "Catch 'em all" :) Can't wait to play with my kids :D

Leader Two at 6:54 is a great GoBot reference! My other favorite reference was Solarshout as a nod to Starscream but the art is of an overly angular robot/plane looking nothing like the rest so my guess is a Skyfire/Jetfire reference. Too cool. Definitely need this expansion.

I believe the phrase we're looking for here is "similar to yet legally distinct from (insert property here)." I also think it's interesting how the redshirts look very similar to a certain acting ensign whose actor is already in the game - Geeks and STYLDF Star Trek would be quite interesting indeed. Can't wait to play these new factions.

Played with these new factions for the first time last night. All very good factions. "Star Trek" and Geeks are good together, as are "Transformers" and Dinosaurs, but clearly the best I saw last night was "Star Wars" and Ghosts (Force Ghosts) - "The Force is strong with them."

So, if this is your second favorite, which was your favorite again? Sci-fi? IMO, these look amazing! I can't wait to get them! These just keep getting better and better. If I had to rank them in order, I'd probably say my favorites were, from least to most favorite: The Obligatory Cthulu Set Awesome Level 9000 (although the Bears are still awesome) Monster Smash It's Your Fault!/Munchkin Smash-Up (tied) Pretty Pretty Smash-Up Science Fiction Double Feature This one looks to be right up there at the top of the list; those Ignobles and Astro Knights look awesome, and the Star Roamers are actually really creative!

When you play Teleport Error and it says to move a minion to a random base, do you choose the base? And if so, it's not really random.

He was referring to the Jabba the Hutt parody creature that looks like slimer from ghostbusters. Which in fact, does look a bit like slimer. The Ignobles card also has an object that looks like a pokeball on the bottom. some cards seem to have multiple parodies from different things on the same card.

Luke also looks like a dorky version of He-Man as well.

I agree, this is a really good expansion, actually the last two have been good. (It's your fault being the one before this one). Honestly, I was about to stop getting expansions because I didn't like them (I loathe the Munchkin and pretty Pretty Princess expansions), and this has reinvigorated me into getting future ones.

What!? Pretty pretty was awesome! Granted, I might be biased because Princesses are my favorite faction, but I play Cats all the time, and Fairies is such a generic faction that it gets played a lot. Ponies are really bad, though.

Yep...because if they used the actual names for the factions, they'd get a Cease-and-desist letter very quickly. With the alternate names, they avoid it. :-)

They went ever further than changing the names with the Star Wars faction by changing genders too. Pleasing the Mouse is a great challenge compared to the others.

Quality wise, this expansion is good (as all products in the series), but gameplay wise this is a complete miss. As a veteran SU player I would advise people to stay away due to balance issues and design flaws with this set. It seems they haven't payed attention to card interactions at all.
